Part of a coach tour

Reviewed By David B

The hotel is very well sited and well appointed and well looked after. We were part of a tour and all was well. We had a lovely room with masses of space. The only criticisms I had were that the shower was on the ceiling and so when you turned it on you immediately had a cold shower from on high. The bathroom light was on a sensor and stayed on long after you were back in bed. The breakfast was acceptable. Usual beef about the toast which you did yourself! Once slightly dried and if you put it through twice it was too brown! The staff were all amazingly good

Big Room With Stunning Views Over To The Welsh Hills

Reviewed By 772MaryB772

This was a great place to stay right in the centre of Llandrindod Wells. The size of the room at the top of the old bank was a bonus. Clean, very comfortable and everything thought of, including the covered hot water bottles just in case - it was warm so we didn't need them, but we appreciated the thought. Ruth is an excellent host, attentive, friendly and helpful. There are lots of stairs but halfway up the flights, Ruth's lovely dog is there to greet you and ask for a pat - perfect opportunity to stand still for a while to get your breath and climb the next section of stairs. Lovely breakfasts, scrambled eggs on granary with smoked salmon was very nice, especially for someone who didn't want to have the big traditional breakfast. The poached eggs the next morning were perfect - avoiding the watery egg scenario - they have a special way of cooking them! We have stayed in quite a few b+b and hotel places in the area, which are usually decent but this is the place that we would like to rebook for our next visit.

Over priced

Reviewed By ggjsg

This guest house is over priced, the building inside and out is very tired and the bedrooms are particularly dated with uncomfortable single beds and not at all clean with stains on the bedding, carpets and the headboards all of which are stained all from so much use from the previous occupants which is most unpleasant to find. We had booked in for three nights but only stayed for one.The evening meal was of poor quality and not at all what we expected, the breakfast on the other hand was very well cooked. We could not recommend this guest house to anyone and were more than happy to leave.

I’ll be back

As someone who stays in a lot of hotels all around the country on business, I have found a hotel that actually caters for the individual. Working nights is never easy when staying in hotels, but it was great to wake up naturally and not by the knocking of the door or hoover banging skirting boards, or doors slamming. Food was excellent and we were asked everyday if there is something you fancy just let us know. All staff very attentive to our needs, and nothing was too much bother. This hotel goes on my list if I am working in this area in the future, Thank you to you and all your staff for a great stay.

Lovely location, not as good as expected.

Reviewed By Passenger617823

A lovely quiet setting in mid Wales but sadly very over priced. Room- adequate but nothing special especially as we were paying for a suite. No mention prior to arrival that housekeeping was minimal. Perhaps it would have been better for the owner to have cancelled the booking as we felt uncomfortable being the only guests in a 17 room b&b. We understand COVID being in our late 60's but not the lack of service or attention to detail. Breakfast was good each morning but no offer of more tea or toast, the owner just disappered. Heating is controlled centrally so at times we were freezing despite having raised the issue. On leaving the owner admitted he should have given us prior warning, but by now too late. I think a good gesture would have been to offer some refund but alas this didn't happen. Would we stay again or recommend, sadly unless the 'hotel' and owners up their game, then a big NO. 4* hotels that we have stayed in change less and offer a better overall experience. We choose because of previous reviews and location.

Nice old pub to stay in

Reviewed By estevelz

Nice friendly pub to stay in. Welcoming, clean, decent pub grub. Shower headroom was only good if you are 5 foot tall but the whole place has a old wood charm. Not the sort of place if you like shiny new hotels but good if you like old pubs with quirky vibe.
