A Bad Experience

I wrote to Banyan Tree Corporate on 16th October regarding our bad experience but no reply so reminded them again on 27th October. Since there is no reply from them to date, I decided to post this on TripAdvisor. Here are our bad experiences. 1. No porter to help us with our luggages when we arrived 2. Dinner on 15th Oct, we ordered white pepper, parsley and garlic to accompany our hotpot 3 times but never came. The service staff were nice but were too busy 3. Breakfast on 16th Oct, too few staff, we only saw 4. There was only 1 lady managing the noodle & egg station. We could not understand why the management did not assign more staff during a busy Saturday 4. Overall the food was sub-standard in our personal view compared to other 4 or 5-Star hotels that we have stayed before 5. Overall the staff were nice but we felt it was the management fault in terms of having so few working staff We were truly disappointed with Banyan Tree as they did not live up to their usual standards and also not answering my e-mails.

Reviewed By Ho JThe hotel is particularly famous for its transparent dome, which I find impressive. The animals and peacocks it sheltered were a scene in itself. The hotel is vast and I think it must be a bit daunting to maintain. The rooms are spacious but the step that separate the living room and the bedroom is inconvenient. The swimming pool is functional and enjoyable

Reviewed By r1kareginaThe location quiet far with Jiuzhaigou reserve. But this hotel is very convinient, clean and the food quiet good too. The receptionist can speak english very well. They have machine to buy entry tickets to jiuzhaigou reserve so you don't need to queuing. Because to find a proper meal is very difficult in this area, their international buffet restaurant is a very must try.

I am sure the Hilton group will deal with them. 1) In real Hilton, the receptionists are able to have a conversation in english 2) In real Hilton, the bathroom appliances are not broken the day you arrive... and keep being broken the day you leave 3) In real Hilton, the shower temperature will not fluctuate, it will not go hot and cold 4) In real Hilton, after 3 complaints, they will fix the previous problems immediately 5) In real Hilton, you will not have to delay your daily schedule because you will have to wait the person cooking the noodles and the eggs to come back 6) In real Hilton, there are no hairs in the room 7) In real Hilton, the pillows are put in place after cleaning the room 8) In real Hilton, the dinner is not cold 9) In real Hilton, the employees at the restaurant will use disposable gloves So yes, I am sure this place is not real Hilton, and management have never been to Hilton hotels. Do not waste your time and find another place to stay. They know Jiuzhaigou is a place you would only visit once in a lifetime, so they just do not care. I am not willing to pay full price for the room, given problems 2) and 3) were not solved during our 4 days stay. However, they avoid any responsibility.

This room is in a traditional tibetan timber house, which is already rare in Jiuzhaigou (most of the traditional old building have been demolished). We have renovate the space and provide modern facilities with private bathroom, hot water, toiletries, hairdryer, air conditioner and private wifi provided.
Lots of local flavor
Reviewed By wisehawk99My son and I stayed here for several nights in July 2017 while visiting the Juizhaigou National Park, which is just down the road. It's not a western hotel, and that's part of the charm, so if you're looking for Western accommodations, this isn't for you. But if you're looking for something unique, but still comfortable and clean, this is a great place. It's family run, with a nice little restaurant that serves a combination of local Chinese dishes and a few western ones. I had bacon and eggs for breakfast one day and Yak noodles another. The yak noodles were good, basically like having a slice of beef with your noodle dish. The Staff was fabulous. Very friendly and eager to make sure you were treated well and enjoyed your stay. It's very convenient to the national park and just across the street from a large shopping/restaurant area. I highly recommend it.

Reviewed By EidnsAs you walk through the resort there is a fair tale like garden/dinning area. A variety of facilities available for activities including a gym, spa, and a parent/kids area for children friendly fun. Within the resort there are shops for last minute gift shopping. Friendly staff offering personal welcome and transportation assistance. Worth mention, they have really good grounded coffee!! I didn’t think I could have this type of great coffee in the middle of the mountain!

Reviewed By Jennie YWe joined an overseas Chinese tour and stayed here for two days. Welcomed by the breathtaking Mongolian at lobby, the staff were mostly helpful apart from the wifi was slow, reason given was there were far too many people using. The bath tub was rusty, and the shower head was not flexible. We had both breakfast and dinner here. Both were far from 5-star expectations. Breakfast had no juice, there was no bacon, one tray of ham and one tray of sausages. Four dishes of cold vegetables - one tray of carrot, one tray of cucumber, one tray of onions and one of tomato, cannot call them salad. There was no honey or jam with the bread. NO chef frying eggs!! The coffee maker was broken the first day, second day it was working but can only give a few cups between refills - long wait. No fruit the first day and had water melon as the only choice the second day. The buffet dinner was more a cafeteria like - no much to choose, from and the plates were not decorated. Choice of dessert was pieces of uninteresting cakes, once again, no fruit. I like the delightful surroundings and would order from menu for meals.

The entrance was nicely decorated in Tibetan style, the rooms were large and well appointed (although a room safe would have been beneficial), the staff we were very helpful and there was a good, reasonably priced shop. Buffet breakfast was a bit manic with everyone seemingly descending at once, particularly since we didn't know what was where but overall we enjoyed staying at the Qianhe.

Fantastic stay
Reviewed By NaomiF2901We stayed for two nights (one either side of the park visit) and I don't think there was a single thing we could complain about. We got a good deal online so the price was spot on - the room was large with two double beds and was very clean. The lady behind the desk spoke excellent English and could answer any questions we had with thorough understanding. The location is perfect - being at the closer end to the park! We opted for the free shuttle at 7.10 which got us there just in time for ticket box office opening. Walking back took about 10 minutes at the end of our day. We ate breakfast there but no evening meals - the menu was extensive and reasonably priced. Last of all the wifi was the best we have experienced so far in China. After a long day of walking we kicked back and relaxed watching streamed tv shows online with no drama. Ideal! We would recommend this hotel in particular to the budget traveller but even if you have the money to spend on something more flash I would still be happy with Angelie.

Reviewed By Jack BWell located - 1.5km from the national park entrance. Also close to a small shopping area with good restaurants (2-3 minute walk). Staff speak no English at all but are helpful. Rooms clean and decent, with nice bathroom. Breakfast is rather plain with only Chinese options. A good choice to see the park.
