Reviewed By 593kristinagWhat I liked : The staff are brilliant and were quick in responding to all my emails before I arrived , helping me plan my time on the island. Really helpful. The hotel is in a great location with walking distance to most restaurants / cafes/ the port. The rooms are clean and relatively modern with everything you need and the hotel itself has lots of outdoor space and nice design elements. The shampoo/ shower gel is of good quality. What needs changing : The bedsheets and towels feel like cardboard !! So hard and rough and unpleasant. I didn’t sleep all night because of it and getting out of the shower certainly wasn’t a pleasant experience. These are details that guests notice and I highly recommend paying attention to this. The infrastructure isn’t great so I had to wear earplugs at night to stop hearing the noise outside and the noise coming from the rooms next to me. Overall - would recommend, but would love to see these small changes made to make the hotel even nicer than it already is.

Reviewed By TangerineBlueFine stay at this well located hotel in Favignana. We stayed at this hotel as a couple. While it's well located and the staff is very friendly and helpful, it's much more of a hotel for families. As an example, the pool is only open until 7pm and you must wear a bathing cap to swim in it. Also, our room had no WiFi. Pros: Exceptionally helpful and friendly staff, especially Marco who was very kind and did a lot of work helping us arrange taxis and excursions Well located in the center of town and convenient to everything Family friend place that's fun for kids (if you're traveling as a family) - lots of activities and entertainment for kids Restaurant is excellent - delicious fresh seafood prepared very well. Cons: Not couple friendly - swimming caps must be worn in the pool which is teaming with children. Pool closes at 7pm. There were large, loud music events at night. Staff does not always answer the phone, even in the middle of the day. There was no Wifi in our room #9E though their listing on the site where we booked states "in room WiFi". This made our stay inconvenient and difficult during moments when I had to work. When we asked the front desk we were told the WiFi works closer to the center of the hotel, near the pool and restaurant, so we needed to leave our room to use it. Our room 9E was quite small The hotel could use some love - the fixtures in the bathroom were corroded, with a blueish rust-like color. Conclusion - I believe this hotel is best for families looking for a well-priced and entertaining place to stay with children or teens. I would not stay here as a couple, or as parents of kids looking for a more relaxing option.

Reviewed By BicarolThe hotel is not in the city center... better to have a bike or a scooter to join it. The rooms are ok and clean but a bit old. The breakfast is delicious with home made pastries. You have a bar if you want to have a drink in the evening. A bit noisy. You hear other rooms. The staff is really helpful and nice.

simple and elegant in the center of Favignana
Reviewed By galloreWe visited Favignana at the beginning of August. I had alredy been there nearly 40 years ago and a great memory, which found a new confirmation. The island is beautuful but what made our stay even better was the hotel Aegusa. Simple and elegant is the best and shortest description which finds a great complement in the quality of the restaurant with its excellent food. My compliments to the owners! Highly recommended!

Reviewed By Cecile CThe room/studio has a correct size but seems unfinished. Some plugs are missing in the room and there is holes instead. (looks still under construction). The size of the "pool" is really small. You cannot swim in it. The quality of the breakfast is poor. Guests smoke in the terrace, and around the pool area where you can have your breakfast and this is very annoying for non smoking guests. towels are not changed every day in the room so you stay with your wet towels for 2 days. We decided to cancel a 2nd reservation we had and didn't get any refund (even partial). Overall it was a very disappointing experience.

Il Giardino delle Aloe - A very nice surprise during Peak Season
Reviewed By Philip_GostelowMy wife and I spent 3 very enjoyable days and nights at Il Giardino delle Aloe. It was late August 2017, peak season for Italians as they leave the north and head south for their summer vacations. We stayed in a regular room with west-facing covered patio and a view toward the hilltop monastery. It was very peaceful and quiet. We enjoyed relaxed breakfasts, and after cycling to the island's grottos would inevitably return late afternoon for aperitivo and dinner at Aloe's al fresco restaurant. The wines, salads and tuna steak with pistachio all great. More than the food, it was the atmosphere at night that pulled you in - relaxed and engaging dining. The manageress was always warm and courteous, and the staff particularly warm and friendly. We felt like part of the family. I would have been happy to stay longer had we not pre-booked another more upmarket accommodation (Il Baglio sull'Acqua - ridiculously overpriced, poor and impersonal service from management, and added prices for every little service that should have been free!) on the island. At Aloe it seemed nothing was too much trouble for the staff to help satisfy our needs. For the price and service I would heartily recommend Il Giardino delle Aloe to any traveller - single, couple or family group. Their lush garden a rarity on Favignana. I hope to return soon!
