Tea rooms, architecture, and art galleries are the main pastimes in this pleasant town.  With four rail stations for easy transport, travelers can board trains running between Harrogate and York, Leeds, Knaresborough, and London.

Deceptive Booking

Reviewed By gcnordhoff

We booked the White Hart because we wanted to stay in the lovely, historic building. We checked in and were sent up the street to find Windsor 441 & 442 - a small, apartment-style home with secured rooms - the entrance has a very heavy smell of stale urine. Thankfully, the rooms do not have the same smell. The en suite bathroom was nice with modern amenities. No views. The location is nice and central. We were not advised that the restaurant stopped serving food so early, so when we went down to get a table at 9pm, the kitchen had closed.

Good Hotel

Stayed for two nights. Check in efficient by friendly receptionist. Room spacious enough with reasonable storage. Bed comfy. View was to the rear of the hotel so not the best. Parking outside available at a price. Cheaper in nearby multi -storey which was pointed out by the receptionist. Only a two minute walk away. Breakfast was the usual. Fruit/yogurt. Cereals. Full English. Some pastries. Would have liked to have seen ham, cheeses and crusty bread/baguette for a continental style breakfast. However still ok. All staff professional and courteous

My daughter and I had room 21 the coppice, what a beautifully decorated room 5*.. the views were lovely, bed comfortable my only negative would be the pillows were very flat (but that is personal choice) Breakfast freshly cooked. Overall ideal for the short walk into Harrogate. I would highly recommend, good value for money and we will be staying again when we visit Harrogate.

The Inn South Stainley

The Inn at South Stainley, located between Harrogate and Ripon, is a stylish country pub with rooms. Following a six-month refurbishment, we opened August 2017, not just as an atmospheric pub and restaurant in Ripon but also with a separate function suite, making it the perfect venue for dining and socialising and also to host your event for up to 160 people. Our large, mature gardens are the perfect place to watch the world go by and the sun go down and make a lovely backdrop for photographs of your special event. We mix the best ingredients with great personalities and atmospheric settings to create memorable experiences. Our seafaring heritage fuses with a timeless, pub charm to bring light and fresh seafood dishes and hearty, classic meat dishes to your table. And all enjoyed within a traditional pub setting, finished with a modern twist making us a great pub with rooms in Harrogate.

One night visit

Reviewed By Helena S

We stayed here for 1 night on our way home from getting married in gretna green. We booked the day before we arrived and got an amazingly cheap price for the room and service we received. We stayed in room 12 which is a superior king room with a patio and they had put a complimentary bottle of wine chilling in an ice bucket in for us on arrival, so lovely of them. It was spotlessly clean with a wonderful shower. The bed was super comfortable, however a mattress topper as well as a protector would have made it perfect as this would have covered the zip and link feature (joins 2 singles as a superking). This is so minor though and did not affect our sleep at all. The pub and gardens are immaculate. The breakfast was delicious. The staff are attentive and polite and really are a credit to the inn. Thank you for our wonderful stay .
