Il Borgo Dei Celti, a renovated mediaeval hamlet on the south slope of Mount Cimone, offers mountain-style apartments, a rooftop terrace with views of the Apennines with barbecue and free parking, this 7 km from the ski slopes of Abetone. Good hotel and restaurant but bad WiFi.
Reviewed By ChrisL7970Hotel Bristol is very nice to the hotel on the windy road on the way down from ABBA Tony on the northside of the pass. It's a spacious little hotel with quite a large number of rooms full stop the one I stayed in had completely modern bathroom facilities that must have been recently upgraded. The rest of the room was a little older but perfectly adequate. The restaurant serves a fixed menu that you arrange in advance which was very nice including a very tasty appetizer dish so for free. The hotel is quite quiet although the walls are little thin. In terms of price-to-quality ratio it's a very low price for quite good quality even for a 3-star hotel. The only downside I could find was that the Wi-Fi was really slow and had really bad coverage in some parts of the hotel, including my room. Even in the main bar it was hard to load applications like Twitter and Facebook. It was literally faster to turn on the mobile data connection and connect to the mobile network. The food is very tasty and well prepared with classic Tuscan menus like minestrone soup and tortelli with ricotta and salvia. The room has shutters and can be made completely dark. Rooms were completely clean. Staff were very friendly if not super visible, but helpful and answered any questions when asked. Overall if they could fix the Wi-Fi this would be an excellent little hotel and would get a 5-star rating.

Reviewed By ItalyAmicoWe wanted to spend some quiet days at this hotel with our dogs. It was a last min decision and rooms was book with website Booking.com. As we are user of Booking.com we do read the conditions carefully before booking. Sadly what we book is not what we got except for the room. For that reason, we left the next day and was made to pay a penalty for 1 night stay as mention in the booking. In normal circumstance, we would have paid if it was our mistake. But it is not. When we arrived, we realise that we are probably the only guest in this hotel. Complete darkness and we started calling on the tel which was provided. 20mins later a lady showed up. She was nice I must say. Show us our room and in all fairness the rooms was exactly like in photo. It was dinner time so we asked about the restaurant and was shock to know everything was closed. No restraurant and no breakfast the next day. It was a 3nights stay along with our dogs. We really want to stay without having to take the car to search for a restaurant so it was really upsetting. The owner did offer us suggestion and alternative but the closest restaurant was 1km away and it was impossible to walk on the mountain roads in the dark. Honestly we would not have book this hotel if we knew everything was closed. We did mention that we are not happy because important information like restaurant close and no service available should be indicated on the website. We stayed the night and left the next morning. No apology or at least offer to reimbursed our stay. Instead we had to pay a penalty for 1 nights. Very disappointing

Hotel lived up to its name!
Reviewed By ianmchughI stayed here with a group of friends in February. The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable and represent excellent value for money. We ate at the hotel both nights and enjoyed the dinner and breakfast. The hotel is just a few minutes drive from the Val di Luce basin which in my opinion has the best runs. One lift takes you to the summit which is in the centre of the ski domain to access the rest of the resort.

Lovely restaurant and hotel in the mountains
Reviewed By MarkHEnglandWe stayed here as a group of 6 for a week in February - it was excellent! This is a large, newly built mountain restaurant with accommodation with a lovely mix of modern facilities with a traditional feel. Everything is of a really high quality and the owners have done a superb job of considering all the details. We stayed in very nice, spacious split level rooms which had a balcony looking out over the mountains. The kitchen is run by the owner, Paulo, and his son who make excellent local dishes including home-made pasta and pizza as well as other local specialities on the menu. It's a very professional kitchen that you can see into and the dining room is run by his wife Gabriella who looks after you. All the staff were great, really friendly and helpful and we had a wonderful week. Thank you to everyone for great hospitality, lovely food in beautiful surroundings.
