We are located right across the street from the Main Square and close to everywhere at the Pueblo Mágico of Cuatro Ciénegas de Carranza. This is one of the oldest buildings in town, renovated but yet respecting its original architecture to the extent that we still have the original floors. All the 'old part' of the building is adobe built, typical of the desert but we still have (free) WiFi in-rooms and public areas, a small but cozy restaurant, air conditioning in all rooms, telephone, cable TV, room service and a BBQ area and an Event Room for up to 120 guests.
Great Central Cathedral Plaza Location
Reviewed By mimicalarconThe room was spacious, modern, simple, and quiet. The location is great;only few steps from the town center. A very nice nocturnal Cathedral view from the third floor. There were two bottles of water in the room, and also a dusty coffee machine, but there were no coffee bags nor tea bags in the room. The previous guest hair was in the bathroom, and the swept floor debris was left on the outside door entrance when we checked in. The room had a nice hot shower and good A/C. The bed was very comfortable. Friendly staff. There was no ice machine, but you can buy at their restaurant.

Reviewed By 14arlettefEl hotel en tema de decoración no es malo, pero los cuartos del segundo piso tiene un problema de drenaje y hace que tanto el baño como el cuarto huelan a agua negras todo el tiempo. El hotel no cuenta con ningún servicio, ni siquiera con un microondas, así que si viajas con niños pequeños no es una buena opción. La alberca se encuentra al centro del hotel y aunque el reglamento es claro que no se puede estar después de las 10 de la noche, el hotel no lo hace válido y hay gente con música y gritando hasta la madrugada. Muy caro para lo que es, hay otra opciones mejores. Definitivamente no regresaríamos.

Reviewed By jazzur55Hellish Nightmare fueled by Extortionists 785040678 First, I cannot stress this enough STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL. Secondly, we planned to stay here for 2 nights and 3 days. At our arrival everything was great. We were having so much fun. We asked to get the jacuzzi ready so we could enjoy the afternoon, I asked for a few beers with an open tab. I traveled with my wife and 5 YO, this will be important later. It was getting darker and we reserved a fire pit they have, I order a glass of wine and sushi for dinner, we were having a lot of fun. But that changed that same night. We went to bed early, and we were already sleeping, at one point after 11pm I woke up to go to the toilet and noticed I had some missing calls on my cellphone. Then I checked on WhatsApp and I had a message there, saying the Hotel Lobby was trying to contact me for some reason, they addressed me by my name, they identified themselves as staff of the hotel and had knowledge of the room we were in. So, I did not think anything about it and replied asking what the matter was, and immediately right after, they called again, identifying themselves as members of a Cartel. I hung up and called the lobby, nobody picked up, so I look through the window and it was all dark. Then a few seconds after that, they call me again, this time through WhatsApp saying they were at the hotel and I was in a bad place at a bad time. They said they were holding all hotel staff hostage in the lobby and to think twice anything I’d do. They then started a vide call, showing “themselves” with a mask concealing their face and a bullet proof vest with the cartel initials on it. They said they were there to collect some payment for protection the hotel “missed to make” and, because there were some members of a rival cartel. They told me things would get ugly soon, but they did not want to spill innocent blood, they started asking if we were members of the cartel, if not, then we could leave unharmed. After a couple of minutes, they said things were worse than they had planned, so it would be better if we left the hotel and stay somewhere else. We complied as we did not know what was happening, nor I could communicate with the hotel or its staff to clarify the situation. We left, and we were forced to stay at another hotel, with our cellphone on a video call at all time, and the other phone on call with them, they were using WhatsApp video call to watch us through the whole thing. It was 4am already, so I realized that was not possible, and could not understand why they were making so much time, so I suddenly thought this was an extorsion call and they had us isolated so they could ask for a ransom to our families. After that we hung up and came back to the hotel Hacienda 1800, we talked to the guard (they have only 1 in a hotel that is in the middle of nowhere) and I explained what happened. We head back to our room and try to get some sleep; at that time, it was 6am already. At 8am of the second day, I talked to the receptionist and she said the guard informed her, she then added that this was not the first time this has happened. She told me the manager was aware of this and he would talk to me, but later as he was on a meeting. I head to the restaurant to have breakfast and after that, I went back to the lobby and demanded to talk to the manager as he failed to contact me. He then approached me, and we talk a little bit, He never shown real concern, at some point he even tried to put the blame on me saying “well, you should have known better” I told him there were 2 main factors that made this possible: 1. Someone from the hotel staff has provided my information to the extortionists since they knew my name, hotel, and room. 2. They have failed to provide valuable information like hotel staff shifts. It turned out everybody leaves the facility at 11pm and just leave one guard there. There is not any sign stating that nor I was told when I checked in. If I knew that information, maybe my behavior could have been different as when they showed up on the video call, they showed me their guns and bullet proof vests and then told me they had everyone hostage in the lobby, there was not a real reason to think this was all fake. Besides this terrible experience we lived through. The manager did not offer anything at all to try to alleviate what happened, he limit himself to offer me 1 free night for the troubles. Which I refused, the only thing I really wanted was to leave the hotel ASAP but had to wait until Wed. since we had no sleep at all, and I was afraid to suffer an accident because of that. On Wed. when we checked out, I ran directly into the manager and did not even react when he saw me, like nothing happened, he did not try to talk to me, or anything at all. When I was checking out, I asked the receptionist to cancel all tips from my open tab. She complied and to my surprise, one of the receipts was missing, and this was the one I ordered the beers with. When I left the jacuzzi area, I was in a real good mood and left a considerable tip to the waiter. For some reason after all this happened, I kept on thinking that waiter had something to do, and then when I checked out, having that missing receipt was kind of a red flag. I don’t know if that guy was or not involved somehow with all this, but again, someone from the hotel staff gave away our info to the extortionists or even participated in the act. After we got home, I did some quick research and found some info about this new method of extorsion. It is called Virtual Kidnapping. So, please avoid visiting this Mexican town at all costs and do not ever even think to staying at this hotel.

La apariencia es la de una casa convencional por que dificulta el encontrarlo. - Echamos en falta una persona presente al llegar para gestionar la llegada de los clientes. Esto nos obligó a tener que llamar por telefono y esperar hasta que la persona pudo acudir para comentar con ella la incidencia que tuvimos. Segun la informacion que publican llegamos dentro del horario del servicio de recepcion. - La comunicacion entre el hostal y booking (hicimos reserva a traves de booking) no funciona correctamente. Aunque pudimos reservar y nos confirmaron la reserva, cuando llegamos el hostal al parecer estaba totalmente ocupado durante las proximas semanas. La persona que nos atendió nos comenta que es algo que les sucede repetidamente y no lo tienen resuelto. Nunca antes habiamos tenido este problema con una reserva a traves de booking. - Al comentar con la persona los importes que habiamos pagado a traves de booking y los que ellos manejan, advertimos que debe de haber algun error y que los precios publicados a traves de booking son significativamente mas caros que los que ellos manejan (independientemente de la comision que cobra booking por la gestion). Esto nos da a entender que no tienen bien controlado o algo no funciona bien entre este hostal y booking por los motivos mencionados.

Several people had recommended me another hotel, Hacienda 1800, but it was full and the only one available in Cuatrocienegas was Hotel-Ito. I now understand why. The bad experience started even before the check-out: I called to ask for information for tours and things to visit and the answer was that they couldn't give me information and that I needed to go to the main plaza. It was my first time that a hotel didn't even try to give me directions! Then I arrived at 11.30am, way before check-in time, hoping I could at least leave my luggage in a secured room while visiting. They told me the only place where they could store my luggage was in the middle of the reception, and that if I wanted to check-in early to leave them in the room, I needed to pay an extra 300 pesos. I decided to leave them in my car, although I obviously didn't feel comfortable. Then, after check-in: the room was small, but at least it seemed recent. No safe, only one soap for washing your hands and for the shower (even a F1 hotel gives you two soaps, how cheap is that...). And, what I really enjoyed: 3 hair below my pillow. I am not sure they even changed the sheets after the previous customer... Another problem was that the hotel is built around a pool, with a bar, with loud music. I never quite understood why hotel managers think people will enjoy loud music 5 meters away from their room! If I want a club, I go to a club, not a hotel! When I left for dinner I told the reception and when I went back they at least had lowered the volume... Additionally, I was on the ground floor so I heard all the discussions from the bar. Lastly, during check-out I noticed the prices of the room: I paid 10% more booking from Hotels.com than if I had booked directly with the hotel! Don't make the same mistake! And it's very expensive for this level of service and comfort. I paid more than in a way nicer hotel in Monterrey! Just stay away from this hotel if you can.

Reviewed By Mario LUn hotel pequeño, muy básico, muy limpio en general, con personal muy amable y atentos. La palapa está muy agradable, al lado de la alberca, aunque al asador empotrado en la chimenea, le falta mantenimiento, pude hacer un buen asado. Por $ 1,200.00 la noche de hospedaje, esperaría que mínimo sus instalaciones estuvieran disponibles o funcionando al 100 %, por ejemplo, alrededor de las 17:00 Hrs. quisimos hacer uso de la alberca, pero alguien salió de la oficina para decirme que no podíamos usarla ya que le acababan de poner químicos a la alberca; que yo sepa, estos mantenimientos se hacen en la noche para que al día siguiente se pueda usar en el horario establecido, el hecho es que no pudimos refrescarnos, el minisplit en la habitación, después de unos minutos de estar funcionando, empezaba a gotear y obviamente teníamos un pequeño charco dentro de la habitación. Lo reporte a la persona encargada en el turno vespertino, y nos asistió de inmediato secando con trapeador, pero más no podía hacer al respecto, excepto cambiarnos de cuarto, que dicho sea de paso, me extrañó demasiado ya que cuando reservé via telefonica me dijeron que solo tenian una habitacion disponible para la noche del viernes 2 de agosto, y resultó que sí tenían más disponibilidad. En fín, opte por quedarme en la habitación con gotera, asumiendo que no sería relevante, y ¿cual fue mi sorpresa?, que no pude conciliar el sueño por el ruido del goteo, y lo flojo del colchón, está muy mal. Había una lámpara de pedestal con poleas muy bonita, pero sin ningún enchufe donde conectarla, no tenía sentido que la pusieran. Al día siguiente, cuando despertamos teníamos un gran charco desde la ventana hasta la entrada del baño, y se los reporte al momento del check out. Ojala y corrijan los detalles.Mostrar menos Fecha de la estadía: agosto de 2019 Consejo sobre habitaciones: habitaciones 9 y 10, están aparte del edificio de cuartos, deberían ser buena opción para descanso, si arreglan los mínimos detalles.
