Reviewed By Vaishnavi SOur main purpose was a visit to the Vaitheeswaran kovil temple. I wanted a decent place to stay so looked for accommodation in Chidambaram. First of all the Google maps location of this place is wrong. It showed us an area in Chidambaram town based on which I planned the entire journey (since it was a road trip) but in reality this was 17km away from the main town, appx 40 min by car. This significantly changed our travel time! The resort as such was big but very poorly maintained. Of course the staff explained that the pandemic has taken a big hit on business, that’s understandable. But in that case they shouldn’t accept bookings. The rooms were run down, smelled of pesticide, so much that I started sneezing through the night. It didn’t have toiletries, or proper garbage disposal. There were cobwebs behind doors. WiFi wasn’t working. Laundry service was non existent. Bedding was dirty. There were lots of mosquitoes. I’m mentioning all of these here because the amenities section on MMT said all of these were available The most problematic thing was, they didn’t have a fully functioning kitchen. Since we travelled with a toddler we required milk often but they didn’t have it. They tried accommodating our requests as much as possible. I had booked via MMT with a complimentary breakfast package. But in the morning when we asked they said they ONLY have idlies for breakfast! No idea why that was called as complimentary breakfast! The ONLY reason I’m giving even 2 stars is for the courteous and polite staff. They tried being as accommodating as possible. Would definitely not go back here!

Reviewed By docnow2000This is an average hotel , but they will loot you if do late check out . They have charged one day full amount for late checkout . very untidy bedsheets , could see used cotton buds under the pillow !

Reviewed By ThiruvenkadamI stayed for two days from 15-04-2022 to 17-04-2022 along with my family. It is a wonderful experience altogether and you can't find a better stay at Chidambaram. The owner of the property is a Retired Professor of Annamalai University and he is a very humble and nice person and you will feel like being at your relatives home. The property has AC and Non-Ac accommodations with Fridge, Mini-Gas Stove and basic vessels. They provide milk packets, coffee and tea powders and we can make our own coffee or tea. They are providing only stay and no restaurant attached. But as it is a very small town, you can go around and have food at various restaurants or you can order online using food delivery apps like Zaaroz, Zomato... (The owner of the property will send all the details of restaurants to your WhatsApp number once you confirm your booking, Adyar Ananda Bhavan, Sri Krishna Vilas, Palagaram are popular restaurants I would recommend). Pros: Clean & Hygiene Cons: Road side parking (but manageable)

Reviewed By Rit_RamA property at southcar street walkable from temple. Lodge like property for one night stay . 3 cars can be easily parked. . Marry brown and ibacco are next shops if kids with you. Dont expect from the lodge anything more .

Reviewed By VjZenPros: Very close to railway stn and quiet. Cons: Dust & Cob web everywhere. Restroom in deluxe room was as good as what you get in local lodge. Executive room restroom was better. Water was a bit salty. Path from railway stn is narrow, if you are not comfortable riding your car in reverse for 100m better avoid. No food options nearby. Nearby waterbody is just sewage and it stinks. Deluxe room vibration while train passing by didn't bother me. Pillow provided was questionable, saw hair strands and dust. Kettle provided for making coffee was all covered in dust. I don't think I'll stay here again. OYO / Vandayar hotel kind of place will be better for temple visit. If you need resort kind of environment better look elsewhere. If you decide to stay call and do offline booking else GST is a addon & executive room is better, avoid deluxe room.

Reviewed By MadhusudananTHospitality is very good. Clean rooms and toilets. Bed spreads were clean. The rooms were small and congested. We were 5 of us and they accommodated in the same building so we could keep the doors open. AC is working. They provided mosquito repellents. No food at this place. But they would get it if required. They do not accept credit cards.

Reviewed By Dreamer48283952674We had horrible experience during our short stay at mansoor lodge. Firstly, essential drinking water was not provided by the hotel management. Receptionist guy from the management who were ruthless in behavior and demanded to pay refundable deposit which were not mentioned in policies. The money paid for our accommodation were completely worthless since unbearable mosquitoes bites us throughout stay. Furthermore our stay taught a great lesson that stinky washroom intensely annoyed us. Finally we packed up without explored the town center of attraction (mangrove forest) due to quandary situation happened to us.
