Reviewed By evaluna74Hotel Lener is great for staying near the Austrian border and enjoying the beauty and peace of South Tyrol. The structure is well maintained, the outdoor spaces are liveable, and there is also a playground for the little ones and an indoor games room. The swimming pool is a bit small but nice, the sauna must be booked. You can access the wellness area from early morning to evening after dinner. The really special thing, for train enthusiasts or luxury travel enthusiasts, is the possibility of sleeping in a suite set up on an original Orient Express carriage. The details are very accurate and outside you can enjoy a small terrace and a corner of the private garden. To give to someone special!

Reviewed By A BThe hotel is a mix of good old tradition with top class modernity. The rooms are squeaky clean and the staff is very friendly. We arrived later than planned due to traffic and upon informing the reception desk in advance, we were allowed a slightly late check in. Wifi is free and there is ample parking space right in front of the hotel. Breakfast is simple yet sufficient. We booked a double room for 2 adults and a baby. They were nice enough to arrange a baby bed by the time we checked in. Although we arrived late, we were given the option to order something from the kitchen. We got the best last minute deal and I would most definitely book the place for my next time.

Beautiful Place with Awful Service
Reviewed By VinaHeI had an awful stay in this hotel. This hotel has a beautiful appearance, rich in tradition and history, an awesome setting but absolutely NO warm and experienced service. I still remember the discrimination that my family suffered at the time. An argument was started because the staff was calling us racist names and remarks in Italian. My family is Chinese, and my aunt can speak Italian, so they didn't know she would be able to understand, and when she called them out for this name-calling, they were shocked and angry, but they ordered us to leave instead of apologize or explain. As we were leaving, I ask for an apology from Irene Stafler (The manager), with her "warm service," pointed her finger to my forehead, and told us to leave. Extremely racist, the staff was toward our family, and I would never recommend this place to anyone who cant understand Italian. I travel a lot, and this was by far the worst experience I've ever had at a stay, I will always remember this.

We, your hosts, would like to introduce you to us and the new “der bircher”. Judith, the daughter of a family in hospitality, and Florian, the son of a baker’s family, we decided at a young age to take over our family businesses. We have been together for more than 21 years and have now decided to merge our two businesses and work according to this new concept. We have had the idea of building a residence in a class of its own with 16 apartments near Vipiteno/Sterzing out of the three-star hotel in need of renovation for five years now. Our greatest wish was to create something new in our area. “der bircher” offers our guests a new, exclusive ambience over three floors. Here in the pilgrimage site of Maria Trens, we also built the “moidls lokäischn”, where our eldest daughter Anna manages our bakery and patisserie with restaurant and daytime café in an exclusive setting. Together we are creating a place of power that gets our guests out of their everyday life.

I chose this hotel merely by reading the first ten reviews and knowing that we wanted to stay somewhere in the Tyrols. I had no knowledge about the area or logistically even where I was, but I knew we were driving from Salzburg towards Lake Como and this seemed a lovely area for us to stay for a night. Where do I begin?? This is a a beautiful historical property with beauty all around it. We had an amazing spacious room and everything was beautiful and the view was breathtaking. The brunch was one of the most delicious I've ever had. The hospitality was top notch and there are beautiful walking trails everywhere. We loved it so much, we will definitely go back! I highly recommend this property!!!!!!!

Fantastic in South Tirol
Reviewed By thesearch12This was a fantastic place in south Tiriol / Northern Italy - A nights stay here as I was driven down from Wurzburg in Germany and then eventually Cortina. Set a little high in a valley you have a that farm or homely feel, It is not centrally located but that was fine for a nights stay. The Lady that checked us in couldn't speak English that well But I did work out she was the same age and she was still fantastic with her hospitaly.The room was very roomy and clean - Yes is Internet bit not in the rooms but in the common areas or seemed to work best closer to the modem or reception. Dinner was great and it seemed to be cheaper than the Wies bier I bought - and breakfast was fine too.

Reviewed By ILoveFood8210Large rooms with terrace, although on the rear looking towards a steep hill. The beds are comfortable and accomodating. The bathroom is a bit old but clean. Aeration is not present, so take care in the bathroom when under the shower. The hotel's restaurant is not quite up to the standard applied in other 3*-hotels, especially at lunch and dinner. Breakfast is ok.
