A long drive, a nice stay
Reviewed By Joachim SWhen going to Baita Bondella, we arrived very late. Reason was that a tree had fallen on the road. We tried a detour, but this was not possible due to the very narrow streets. We decided to go back to Como and try later in the evening. We finally arrived at 22:00. A very warm welcome was our part. If we wanted, we could still eat there. The owners had been waiting and were willing to keep the kitchen open. The rooms were rather basic, with shared bathroom for 4 rooms. Our neighbours made a lot of noise early in the morning, so we were up a little bit too early. We had a great home made breakfast, before taking of to Peruggia. I stayed in Baita Bondella as a stop on the way from Antwerp to Peruggia. In fact, for this, the hotel is not the best choice. It is a long and difficult drive from Como to Baita Bondella, and comfort is not that high. I do strongly recommend it for those that are seeking adventure and nature, rest and peace, and an outstanding view.

The hotel is situated in Brunate, a small village up to Como, easily connected by a funicular service ( 7 minutes' trip) and accedsed by car about an hour from Milan and Lugano. From Bellavista Hotel you can enjoy a unique view of Como, its lake and Italian and Swiss Alps. Newly renovated, all rooms preserve the Art Nouveau style of the past century. All rooms are fully painted with wooden floors and doors, balconies and windows in liberty style. Each room has a flat screen television with SKY TV, private bathroom and more...The hotel also provides, under payment, a wellness area, with panoramic view, Jacuzzi and sauna.

Reviewed By hilarym458We didn't spend a lot of time in our room but it was quirky and fun to stay in. For some reason all pillows we ever used in Italy hotels, including this one, were very flat, so double up if that bothers you. We had a room looking at the church across the street, and when we went up to our rooms it felt almost like we were sneaking into the hotel because of the way that the front was set up for dining, and the staircase was only available to hotel guests. The dinner we had at the restaurant was very good, we enjoyed the prosecco, and the view of the sunset was spectacular. In the morning we woke up to the smell of baking bread and the croissants we had with the included breakfast were possibly the best I had in 2 weeks in Italy. Everyone was friendly, and the person who checked us in insisted on carrying our super heavy backpack style bags up to our room for us. It was probably good that we had learned a little Italian because not every staff person there spoke English well, but there were no issues. The hotel is a very short walk from the funicular but when we arrived on a holiday the line to use the funicular up to Brunate was so long that we had our driver take us up there in his van instead. This is not a road for the faint of heart or any large cars, and it was a story we told several times!

Amazing views of Lake Como and brilliant hospitality from owners
Reviewed By BruceGloucesterWe stayed here for two nights en route to Anghiari in August 2017. The approach roads are certainly hairy in places but a modicum of care and patience sorted that out! The hotel itself is simply decorated and furnished but clean and comfortable and better than at least one other that we stayed in on our trip that was also rated at 3 stars. The soundproofing is non existent in the rooms but we had read other reviews and anticipated this. The guest in the next room who had an amazing snoring repetoire slept well all night!! We arrived earlier than expected but found the daughter and wife at the hotel who received us very warmly and providd us with refreshments "on the house" which we were very grateful for after a hot and tiring drive. At dinner we sat on the terrace and watched the amazing scene of como and the lake change from a daylight to night time scene which was rather lovely. Our meal was excellent and the local wine recommended by Roberto was very good indeed. The next day we made the mistake of walking to the fenicular railway to go down to Como, it was further than w thought and very hot indeed so would have been more sensible to take the car to the station, narrow winding roads notwithstanding! On our second evening we again spent a pleasant evening sat on the terrace eating our dinner and admiring the view. Again the food and wine was very good indeed and the service from the host attentive and concerned that we were happy with everything.. Continental breakfast was good and generous. Clearly we really enjoyed our stay at Falchetto and considered it a happy find when we had planned our journey and the stop overs. It was also good value for money especially compared to a number of other places that we stayed on this trip. As a footnnote and as a comment on just how kind and generous this couple is, I found the day after we had left that I had left my jacket in the wardrobe. I emailed Roberto and asked if he could post it to my home address, letting me kow the cost so that I could reimburse him. He did this without hesitation and refused to accept anything from me for the cost which was not insignificant. If Roberto reads this reviewI would like to say thank you for a lovely stay, some excellent food and wine and your helpful generosity. I hope that we might stay with you again in the future

The Hilltop B & B , approx. 20 minute twisting mountain drive from the Beautiful Como was set in the tree top s, lovely restaurants near by , beware however , very hilly and not suitable for buggys , wheelchairs , non able body , The Host could not be more accommodating - recommend if you want a base above Como , mountain walks and relaxation.

The small eco-friendly family hotel Paradiso sul Lago, existing from 1908, is located at 900 metres a.s.l. in a wonderful panoramic location with view on the nicest area of the Lake Como from Moltrasio to Laglio where George Clooney owns Villa Oleandra. There are several possibilities for boat tour or hiking from the hotel and for your relax you can use the big swimming pool and solarium on the lake view terrace. At walking distance there is the Volta Lighthouse tower with a unique view on the Alps and the Lake Como. The hotel and its 12 rooms have been renovated in 2018
Lovely quiet hotel with stunning views, super food and great family service!
Reviewed By 12tedtRoberto and his team were so friendly and attentive it made our stay so pleasant in their lovely Hotel overlooking the stunning Lake Como. It was a bit of a chore to get here on the Saturday we arrived after a plane, train and long wait for the funicular (local taxis in Como are not keen driving up the hill!) but certainly worth it. The staff are very friendly and make you at ease in their lovely, clean hotel and the Gina reinforces this with her superb cooking in the restaurant , both at breakfast and her gorgeous evening meals. It’s not 5 x star elegance but then that’s reflected in the price. Nearby there is a lovely Pizza restaurant which our 2 x girls liked and several other bars and cafes so you aren’t isolated. Swimming pool is cold but nice and jacuzzi is lovely both overlooking lake. The hotel staff are there to take you to and from the funicular as well which is great as a long walk. Como is worth a visit and cruises on lake a must. We cannot thank you enough guys..keep up the good work and see you soon. Grazi.

Theft in a hotel
Reviewed By RutaK57We stayed at this hotel for one night traveling around Lake Como. First impression was really good, small family hotel, rooms very small but tidy. However, the beginning of our trip was damaged by theft from a room at this hotel. In the morning, when we got up and went on the terrace for breakfast, the hostess suddenly left the terrace. As the breakfast was poor, we drank tea and went back to the room and met her on the way out from our room. When asked what she was doing there, she said that she had turned off the air conditioner, which had not been on, since our arrival. After that I missed the expensive watch and the 100eur that were taken out of the wallet. After this incident, we tried to talk with her, but she began to argue. We went to the police to record the incident, although we had little hope that it would help. The hostess only joked that her relatives were employed by the town police and we just wasting our time. There is no safe in the room where you can safely store them. Protect your belongings, don’t leave in a room if you decide to stay there.

Reviewed By ReisePatbeef griglia is not fresh, patata fritta are cold, the fish is not fresh and the risotto porcini smells a bit stinky. the kids meal pollo fritta with fries is really overprized. Overall you can have there water in a bottle and the water is fresh.

Auch vom sehr süßen Foxterrier Cipalipa wird man freundlich begrüßt. Persönliches Ambiente. Das Haus, der Garten, die Einrichtung der Zimmer sowie der Küche und des Gesellschaftsraumes äußerst hochwertig und mit sehr viel Liebe zum Detail. Beim Frühstück hat es ebenfalls an nichts gefehlt. Wir kommen wieder.
