Reviewed By GaliaMKLoved this hotel, my only negative comment is that the wi fi was not unlimited. The location is gorgeous, perfect to walk around and enjoy Bavena and Lake Maggiore. We had a room with a balcony facing the lake, it was really nice! Bedroom and bathroom were super comfy, pretty and clean. Breakfast was included and was quite nice. It’s a very nice hotel to stay in.

Reviewed By Marvintm009Spent only 1-night, but we will go back to Baveno and stay at Splendid! The rooms were amazing, views breath-taking, and the staff were absolutely great. Was able to decompress quicky due to the surroundings and accomodations. The breakfast is very good for Italian standards, we heard that the dinner sessions were fair. This was to be our last trip to Italy, hoever we will return jsut to spend more time at Bavenoand Hotel Splendid.

We are within easy reach of the railway station which is about 400 meters from the hotel and about the same distance from the main boat terminal which is the departure point for the visits to the Borromean Islands. Two lifts. Air conditioning. All rooms with private bath or shower, telephone, satellite television lcd, safety deposit box.

Reviewed By IlanilanilanHotel Alpi was one of the highlights of our trip!! The hosts Paola and her brother were incredibly hospitable and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and cared for. Highly recommend eating at their local and authentic restaurant which is on site (delicious home-made food and Paola’s cakes were the best!). They were so genuine and helped us with all of our travel plans. The place was super clean and the location and views were impeccable!! If you are in or near Baveno, you must stay here!! We can’t wait to return!!

Great view, great value for money
Reviewed By cormacc51We loved this hotel. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. We had two rooms with a beautiful shared balcony and the most amazing view - sunrise over the Borromee islands on Lago Maggiore. Great location, close to the motorway and a one hour drive to Milan if you want a change of scene after sightseeing around the lake. Breakfast was quite copious and a great start to the day.

Reviewed By MizzeliniTo start a positive side: the hotel is near the lake, at a convenient spot. When we arrived, our parents had already booked us a room, because they were already staying at the hotel. When we arrived, our room was very hot, and the airco didn’t work. We wanted to ask, but after 22:00, no service, so we had to sleep in a room, the temperature at the room stated 29 degree Celsius. We didn’t get any sleep. In the morning, with no sleep, we asked if they could fix the airco, so we could still get some sleep. The man (who runs the hotel with his sister) told us he was no technician. He told us: “how would you feel if someone ask you to fix an airco in the morning, this is not my job.” So…no sleep for us at the first night. In the evening we eventually got a room with airco, after asking many times. After this we noticed the “manager” didn’t want to help anymore. The manager told our parents the room was not taken care of by us, so they would not give us clean towels or clean the room. My parents are over 65 years old, and found it strange that the manager would bother them with this. He told us they would not cleane because we left the room not clean, kind of strange. After we showed the room to his sister, she told us: so sorry, we will clean it right away. When parking the car, he told us, your can’t park your car at the hotel, you have to park elsewhere. Once again, we asked an other employee, they told us, sure, this is a perfect spot, you can park here. Once again, the manager was just pissed because we wanted to have a room with Airco, which we payed for ofcourse. Even when we left, he argued that we left the lights on in the room, seriously, he was angry about us leaving the light on. And btw, the breakfast is pretty poor as well. They gave us very bad coffee, when we saw other guest get different coffee, they eventuality gave us, like the rest of the guest, coffee from the bar, instead of the old automat. So, guest are not treaded equal here… and also everyday was the same dry bread and no vegetables or different options daily. It was the same every day.

Reviewed By lindaj07Room basic but clean, breakfast Ok but dinner awful, cold and unappetising. Owners not interested. When food sent back they didn’t bother to find out why it was returned and didn’t offer an alternative. Would not recommend this hotel. This was booked as a package through Inghams.

Reviewed By rww1979I stayed as an alternative to a hotel in Milan and other hotels in the area where I had stayed before such as the Grand Dino. I found a gem for a great price. The room with a balcony over the lake was adequately sized for one but may feel small for two but ok for me. The views are amazing and the food was authentic Italian, what can I say!!! Only criticism was lack of towels in my room when I arrived but easily sorted by the reception team and the car park is quite small. Other than this great place!!!

Reviewed By GabyminThis is my second time staying at Serenella and it did not disappoint. The staff is incredibly hard-working and always friendly. We actually had dinner at Serenella all of the nights we were staying there and each night it got even better, which we did not think was possible! The raw fish trio, scallops, gnocchi and ravioli were really amazing. Filippo, the owner of the hotel, has a great eye for detail and makes sure you are always comfortable. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable and the location is great. I already can’t wait for the next time we come to visit!!
