Terrible customer care.
Reviewed By jaka_reynoldsI had to pay Tsh 10,000 (4 $) just to seat and eat lunch at poolside which have fresh air. I ordered Chicken and mushroom pizza and I waited for like 1 hr and 30 minutes and they brought me Vegetable pizza, I told the waiter I didn't order vegetable pizza she told me she can not take it back so have to take it cz they are all pizza ? and she did even apologise for the mistake she did.. I was disappointed with this hotel customer care

Relaxing stay
Reviewed By Gert-Jan vA nice place with a very pleasant atmosphere. The outdoor place is very scenic with nice places to sit or lounge and a pool. Some review mention a staff that seemed like being "interrupted" by the guests, but we saw the staff as very helpful and waiting for your service request. They're not "in your face" but still there, in the background, to serve you with information or food/drinks. The food served is simple and at the same time tasty. Our room was very nicely decorated. The entire building was created from previous ruins which gives a special feeling to it. All the windows have bars, but can still be opened for fresh air. Owner Jo was very helpful in providing contacts for next stops on our trip. As for the covid-related questions I have to answer in this review: Staff and guests are very relaxed towards covid-measures (which are anti-scientific and unnecessary anyway). So, when we return by the end of the year we will probably visit Firefly again.

The hotel is situated 60 km north of Dar and 20 km before Bagamoyo. The location in the tranquility of a genuine lagoon makes it peaceful and does also give you a lovely view to from your room and your terrace. The activities we offer gives you a glims of the local culture and is a perfect introduction to the country if you come from abroad. Do you live in Tanzania, this is the place to relax and enjoy the good food, the beach and the everlasting friendly service from our experienced staffs.
Nice location but very basic hotel
Reviewed By KHATRI_TANZANIADuring christmas holidays in Dec, wanted an ocean view outing, while searching found the name of this hotel and booked, it's located some few KMs before reaching Bagamoyo town, and we had to about 6 KMS through a rough road till we arrived at the hotel. Rooms was sea facing but very ordinary and basic, air conditioners were hardly cooling, there were plenty of mosquitoes in the room though mosquito net was there on the bed, they didn't have swimming pool but the ocean was beatiful. They have one restaurant and we had breakfast, lunch and dinner and food was good. There was no wifi and mobile signal also was very weak in that area. I can say this hotel has got a very good sea facing area which is not properly maintained, they have to do lot of renovations and also they must improve their services.

Reviewed By ajabuIf you are looking for a quiet place, BSA is a good option. The Internet is stable. There is no entertainment and certainly no alcohol but the food is good but done on order. The restaurant closes early so it is a good idea to pre-order dinner.

Reviewed By ajabuThis is one place where you do not miss TV or social media and am I glad the rooms have no TV! All the rooms have a sea-facing porch and the warm sun in the morning is nothing less than a greeting from heaven! The food is fantastic and made on order. They even have organic chicken. There is a very clean pool. The downside is the mosquitos in the open restaurant in the evenings. The hotel provides repellent but they can be a bit of a nuisance. The staff are fantastic, from the gate to the reception to the kitchen. Will go back many more times!

I have been here before but now i see a lot of modifications now there's a shower, bidet, toilet paper, and other toiletries, beautiful curtains, tables, Chairs, ironing board, terrace..etc. I really enjoy the place infact you can see the picture here below for a single room that i used to stay.. ?

Worst Stay
Reviewed By adamdonkSo we stayed at the Cottage for 2 nights and we had elderly people, children below 3 years amongst others and the experience was horrible.. Customer Service - 3/10 Food - 2/10 Amennities - 1/10 No water in the shower for 2 days despite asking the staff every single hour to fix the problem.. ACs were not working in 2 rooms and it stayed that way till we left.. Mosquitoes all over the place like they own the land and no effort was seen to do something about this issue.. Very disappointed and would probably NEVER visit again!

Mid Budget resort
Reviewed By shaymaab2016The resort was impressive at first. We were only here for the night. Couple of things triggered me like how the workers were not friendly. The service was bad. the AC was on full blast when asked for the remote control to reduce the speed i was told they were “all” lost. So it was either live with it or switch it off (which i couldn’t because it was too hot) the room was full of mosquitoes. The breakfast was bad. Very limited and tasteless. One of the waitress was eating from the hot pots while the other was on the phone when i was asking him for something. We usually pay during check outs but at this hotel we had to pay during check in which made me wonder why. It was more about “money” than customer’s service. In general the rooms are ok. Swimming pool is nice. Would visit again if i was under a tight budget.
