A good hotel
Reviewed By kuu-kankoIt was nice to see the new hotel building when coming through the city streets. Everything in the hotel was new and shining clean, quite a contrast to the city in general. The location was quite central and not very far away from the bridge coming from Brazil. There were a number of Asian restaurants, currency exchange offices and a supermarket closeby. The breakfast was quite good with artesanal bread, cheese, cold cuts, fresh fruit and some warm options. The front desk spoke enough English to handle check-in and check-out, but misunderstood my questions about the city: e.g. my question about the possibility of using Brazilian reals in Ciudad del Este was answered with the location of the currency exchange offices (it turned out that Brazilian currency was widely accepted). The only negative was that no complimentary bottled water was provided. There were always taxis waiting in front of the hotel, but they knew they can try overcharging hotel guests. By walking two minutes north to the next intersection taxi prices went down by 50%.

The Hotel is 11 miles away from the main commercial hub of the city and all the major department stores, and 8 miles away from the Parana River and the Itaipu Dam.

Reviewed By dorissI7676QHA contemporary and well appointed hotel, there are predictable reminders to always wear facemasks. One such sign is at the Registration Desk. But neither of the employees behind the desk were masked when I arrived last night, Dec 4, 2021. The use of masks by employees is irregular and unmonitored, but guests generally do not use masks in either large or small closed areas. Elevators, for example, are crowded and maskless. When my companion asked one such group to use masks they feigned a lack of understanding, though he translated into Portuguese, since they were speaking Portuguese. Ciudad del Este has a notoriously high incidence of Covid. The Manager of the Hotel politely explained to me all the complexities of having laws that regulate shared spaces and also explained that people don't follow the laws. He could not account for his employees not using masks, nor could he imagine actually complying with the law by requiring guests to mask themselves, the way an airline requires travelers to mask, with employees whose charge it is to keep the area safe. I promised the Manager to write an alarmed review. I am also alarmed that among your questions below there is none about using m asks even for vaccinated people and insuring the safety of guests. I trust this review will get your cooperation to make it prominent; otherwise I will have to imagine corruption on your side and take the matter farther.

Reviewed By cediferbaWell located, super clean, the breakfast is delicious, complete and with a nice atmosphere. The swimming pool is small. Is not allowed to enter water with you at the hotel. What I didn't like is that the walls are very small or theventilation system connected from one room to another so you can hear literally everything what the ppl from the rooms around talk.... Specially what they do in the toilet :( Noise can start at 5 am since Latin ppl wake up early. Despite that....in general a nice place. Recommend for a family or a business trip.

It is easy and simple to go to the centre by bus. If you really like walking, you could enjoy the distance. The room is simple. The facility is simple as well. But it is quite enough for staying at the place comfortably. Have you seen a hummingbird? They can be seen from the breakfast table every morning. I strongly recommend this place for budget travellers. Supermarket, shopping mall, pubs are nearby...

Reviewed By CVRA11We were at this hotel a big group of 50 persons aproximately for 2 nights. Between us were 3 elder ladies sisters who wanted to be in the same room. The reserve was made asking for 3 beds. well, there were a single and a double bed. First night the ladies didn´t complain at all.. but the second night was really cold (0°C) and the heating of air conditioner wasn´t working and also the bathroom was without warm water. The hoter brought a tecnician who couldn´t fix any problem, so they brought a heat very lighty which made very difficult to sleep for the ladies. Next day I have a short conversation with the manager called Monica Enriquez, who said she couldn´t do anything about it and that she felt sorry, just sorry. We expect some other atention but she denied it . And the mattreses were foam mattresses aparently, these were the same for each one of us. They should change the mattresses. We won´t ever come back here and we don´t recommend it. Estuvimos en este hotel un grupo de aproximadamente 50 personas por 2 noches. Entre nosotros habian 3 señoras mayores hermanas para quienes se reservo un habitacion triple, aclarando en la reserva, una cama para cada una; pero en la habitación habían una cama simple y una cama doble. La primera noche, la señoras no tuvieron mayores quejas pero la segunda noche muy fria con 0°C, la calefaccion del aire condicionado no funcionaba y tampoco el agua caliente. Fue un técnico pero no pudo solucionar ninguno de los 2 problemas, asi que se les envió una estufa que emitía demasiada luz, lo que les hizo inclusive más dificil de dormir, considerando que las camas son de espuma y se hunden. Al día siguiente tuve una corta conversacion con la gerente de nombre Monica Enriquez que dijo que no pudo hacer nada al respecto y que lo sentía. Esperamos que tuviese algún detalle por lo ocurrido pero ella no concedio ninguna otra atención. Todos los del grupo coincidimos que las camas se hundían. No pensamos volver a este hotel ni lo recomendamos.

Wonderful Hotel with a European Pension Quality and an Excellent Garden - Great for kids
Reviewed By Rob RWhile Cuidad del Este is off the beaten path for Americans, this ended up being our favorite hotel of our Paraguayan vacation. We came to Ciudad del Este to see the nearby falls in Argentina. My wife and I liked this hotel. Its Continental charm and beautiful garden made it an excellent oasis from the craziness of Cuidad del Este. The neighborhood is good; the hotel is gated; and my wife felt secure. The breakfast was very good. One member of the staff spoke English well and helped us plan our trip to the Argentine side of Iguazu Falls, using the ferry, on which we transported our car. The kids enjoyed the small playground on the property (there is a nice park around the corner from the Hotel, with a much larger playground), but most of all they liked playing with the Hotel's small dog, 'Coto', who enjoyed playing fetch with a small lime. Our rooms were of good size, very clean, and tastefully decorated.
