Downtown Forest Hostel & Camping is located down the hill of the very city center, in the artistic part of Vilnius called Uzupis. While walking downhill, the spirit goes up because of the rustic and warm neighborhood around. Main tourist spots are within a slow-walk distance: City hall (10 min), Cathedral (15 min), Bus&train station (20 min). Plenty of green areas around: newly opened park (10 min), river and ponds (3 min). And of course republic of Uzupis just meters away. We call ourselves a forest, because we are located in a big house which is surrounded by trees and a garden. Green is all around our cozy chateau, as we call it. And the location is very downtown indeed. Peace and nature is what we have plenty of everywhere. Be sure, the rooms are not overcrowded. Outside the house we have "Wolf's bar and grill rental" terrace. You can grill your food while sitting in the terrace. Camping ground is on the other side. We have 5 places for Campers and big green area for tents with all the facilities. This is not a standard cold spiritless hotel. We (the staff) make this hostel a place where we would like to stay. We all are passionate about traveling and about our city. We treat our guests just what we would like to be treated when we are traveling. TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice 2015! Reviewed By Bechara CCool hostel, with a great location in a green surrounding, it's in the same time a camping and picnic site. It's not so far from the city center, with a close bus station. The staff is very helpful, and logistically, it was well equipped. So it is recommended for young travelers and low cost and to make great friendship.

We are cozy, we are fun, we have got the vibe and the soul, it is place you do not ever want to leave but if you do, you will do that with a smile on your face. Oh, and by the way we are not just near the heart of the city, it is beating at our doorstep. The people who gave a good kick to the alternative scene of the city have been working hard to bring you the most interesting hostel in the city. It is not just a place to stay, it is a place to be.

Reviewed By Karolis JPogo the name, Pogo the condition. The lockers arent in the room and the keys for them are mailbox level, cuties. Not much space in the lobby, not all the sockets in the rooms are at the beds and I saw a bed which hadnt one at all. Few toilets, one toilet per whole second floor, compare to those whostels who have one per room. Squeaky. Had to leave my keys unattended leaving, right at the door. Sorrow bout the shoes, missed that and then it was too late. Wanted to leave a couple e for that but the chair was empty. Good location.

Reviewed By RaziehMoWhen we checked in to the hostel the bed sheets were covered with dirt, the shower drain was clogged and filled with hair with a disgusting smell and the room was not clean at all. We were told by the reception that our room would be cleaned and that we would get bed linen in few hours, but neither the room was cleaned nor did we receive any bed linen as promised. The hostel staff showed the least amount of service spirit. There’s a train track right behind the hostel which is loudly in use and makes a lot of noise during the nights.

Reviewed By richardb202017I wanted to like this place, but end I cannot. The rooms are plain, basic and clean - so far so good, that's all I needed. Somewhere during a week of work meetings. But...the rooms are noisy, facing on to a cobbled street with fairly constant busses and traffic. The rooms are also way too hot for me, but maybe you like that. And then it's just weird, super hard to find if you arrive at night, no lit signs at all. And then the staff started hassling me three days before departure to pay, not just one but multiple time. Texting me, leaving postit notes in my room, and bailing me up in reception. Not cool. I cannot come back here.

Worst place ever!
Reviewed By TBelliniThis was the worst experience in hostel in all my life. The place has bad accommodation and the price is high for what they deliver. Wifi wasn't running and the manager said the problem would be fixed in 2 hours. After 4 hours the problem remains but wasn't anyone at reception for information. I walked to a café to use internet and text to managers Whatsapp. He told me that internet won't come back. I need internet for work 24/7 and I said that I couldn't stay without it. He told me that I could go away and he could refund me. He said for me wait 1 hour. I waited for 3 hours and when he appeared he just refund part of my money. He is arrogant, unpolite and mistreated me.

We are a family-run hostel situated in a quiet street at the border of Vilnius Old Town. The hostel's owners are Aleksandr and Svetlana. We will try to do our best so that your stay in our hostel will become the most comfortable as it could be :) Our goal is to make you feeling like at home and provide you with a great social atmosphere as well as to give you an opportunity to have a good sleep after a busy day of the sightseeing in the city. We are located at the border of the Old Town, so, you can discover the Old Town on foot. A public transport's stop is in a-5-minutes walking distance from our door. The bus and railway stations can be reached less than in a 10 minutes walking. The hostel provides 17 beds and, therefore, is very homely making it easy to meet people and make friends. There is a shared kitchen for all the guests to use and to meet each other - especially during our tea/coffee evenings. Staying in our rooms you will travel through the whole Lithuania, as each room has its special name according to different Lithuanian cites: Nida, Palanga, Sventoji, Trakai, Rusne and Plunge and, of course, provide an appropriate atmosphere.

Reviewed By Anna GA very cozy and comfortable dorm, so it is great for a couple or for a solo traveller who wants to have some rest and quiet time. The common area is really small, so if you are a solo traveller looking to meet new people, then it would not be for you. However, the location is great (close to bus and train station, and since the old town is quite small, you can walk anywhere from there). The staff was also very attentive: I arrived earlier than the check-in time but I was still allowed to do so; and even if I had booked a 4-people dorm, in the end I had a two-people private room.

Reviewed By cooker3000This hostel is in a lovely location only a few minutes away from the bus station and also close to the old town. I was in a double room with a friend for the first 2 nights and a dorm room on the last night. Everything was good and what you hope from a hostel. There are 2 kitchens on 2 respective floors and good WiFI. 1 thing that I found strange is the opening hours for reception. It was only open for 8 hours from 8am - 4pm; In the hundreds of hostels I stayed in I have never encountered reception hours with such limited hours. They make provisions to check in later but just find it unusual. Nonetheless still a good place to stay.

For the price okay
Reviewed By IceableSo I payed not even 6€ per night and for this price the hostel is okay I think. There are several kitchens (although they're dirty and only in one is a working stove) and the rooms a quite big (at least my room). Anyway the staff is not very nice (also not mean, they just don't care at all about you or the hostel) and there are bed bugs in my bed. I told the staff, they didn't really seem to care. That's actually the reason why I write this review. I don't think they'll do anything about the bed bugs so watch out if you're in floor 2 hostel b room 1. I'm gonna put a photo of the room to the review. But as I said I didn't even pay 6€/night so I can't complain too much :D Whatever hope you have a nice stay there or choose another hostel (that's maybe a bit more expensive but also better then)
