10 Horseback Riding Tours in Buenos Aires That You Shouldn't Miss

August 23, 2021 Jana Sager

The birthplace of the tango is, like the dance itself, captivating, seductive and bustling with excited energy. Atmospheric old neighborhoods are rife with romantic restaurants and thumping nightlife, and Buenos Aires' European heritage is evident in its architecture, boulevards and parks. Cafe Tortoni, the city's oldest bar, will transport you back to 1858, and the spectacular Teatro Colon impresses just as it did in 1908. Latin America's shopping capital offers the promise of premium retail therapy along its grand, wide boulevards.

Everything from the pickup to the dropoff was done in the most professional way. My wife and I were the only guests that day. The day started with ’welcome’ empanadas, drinks etc. Then we embarked on an amazing riding experience on the pampas fields, the grassplains, near ponds of water, all in a safe fashion. After 2,5 hours of riding we stopped at the estancia for a barbeque with the best meat we have ever tasted. Then we continued riding for another 3-4 hours. All in all an amazing riding experience of about 6 hours. We ended the trip with cookies, drinks and wine. Our guide for the tour Andrés was outstanding- showed us riding tehniques, took amazing pictures of us and talked us through the history of gauchos and the estancias. The estancia was beautiful with a lot of possibilities for relaxation. Of what I have read on the internet and now have experienced this is definitively the best option if you really want to experience horseriding in a healthy enviroment and friendly people at the beautiful argentinian countryside. The booking was made through an emailadress I found on their webpage. I received an immediate confirmation and Ana managed to accomadate us with a short time notice.
