Founded in 1368, this famous university is one of Germany's oldest and most prestigious.
The Heidelberg University is one of the oldest in Germany (est. 1385). Especially worthwhile are the Great Hall and the spectacular library next door.

Konstanz really surprised me. It is a city which has all. Good climate, beautiful lake, mountains in the distance, lots of history and nationalities, good restaurants and bars and the old town is in the middle of all. Quite some parts are car free luckily. It contains cosy small streets with beautiful buildings and large squares and boulevard streets which are alive. Everything is well maintained and perfect to do on foot because it isn't very big. It is really worth the time to take a couple of hours and stroll through the old town. Most restaurants and night life are also located here. Trough an underground passage at the station you can easily walk to the dock and the Constanz Lake.

So, so beautiful! We walked this town all over, it is maybe the most picturesque town I have ever seen. Walking along the Kocher River, crossing the timber bridge to Biergarten Unterwöhrd, the shops along the way are quaint. You will not able to take enough pictures.

Wertheim's Altstadt is beautiful, clean, with fountains and half timbered houses, little shops and cafes in the marktplatz. I am perhaps biased as I have many fond memories of childhood summers spent roaming the streets and alleys of Wertheim visiting my grandparents. Little is changed in the historic section, but clearly kept up! Wonderful little town, castle, and rivers surrounding it.

The promenade by Lake Constance in Friedrichshafen is converted into a pedestrian street. There is a museum and shops and restaurants. A grand tour allows you to have a 360 ° view of the city of Friedrichshafen and a view of Switzerland on the other side of the lake. It is a pleasant place to spend the end of the afternoon.
