The Mullerthal Trail is the leading hiking track in the Mullerthal Region - Luxemburg's Little Switzerland. The Mullerthal Trail with more than 112 km is composed by 3 big tracks (Route 1, Route 2, Route 3).Route 1 and Route 2 pass through the City of Echternach which is largely known as the cultural and historic highlight of the region. The three routes each have their distinction:Besides the cultural highlights, Route 1 shows the typical landscape elements which are the rocks, forests and pastures. Route 2 passes through the heart of Luxemburg's Little Switzerland and offers most spectacular rock formations. Route 3 features next to the rock formations many stream valleys and romantic castles. The routes are all connected but can also be hiked separately. The hikes are all quite individual as departures can be undertaken from the various localities. Furthermore, the Mullerthal Trail offers four (smaller) tracks, the ExtraTours, which can also be characterized as very attractive hiking tracks. They can be considered as departures as well as additional tours when all the other hikes have been undertaken already. The Mullerthal Trail and the ExtraTours have been signalled completely which gives you a great feeling of security and prevents from having bad surprises. The Mullerthal Trail is leading repeatedly to beautiful view points and to natural and cultural highlights. Walking on the Trail is thus an unforgettable experience for every one.Children will love the region as the wonderful rock formations want to be explored and climbed. Parents of smaller children though should take especially good care and watch their children as security barriers are not always guaranteed. Attention: the paths can not be undertaken with a pram or wheelchair.
the hiking trail to take when there you can do only parts of the trail and thn take public (free) busses) back to your starting point lots of nice sceneries on the way

First this museum was dedicated to the "Battle of the Bulge" in Luxembourg in winter 1944/45. The key topic of the museum remains the balanced and objective historical representation of the military operations in the Ardennes from the german, american and civilian points of view. Over 3000m2 of exhibition space enable an insight of the dramatic and tragic situations that both, soldiers and civilians, were caught in. Special showrooms feature extensive collections of weapons, uniforms, military equipment of all kind, wheeled- and tracked vehicles, in addition to numerous personal soldier's belongings, photographs, documents and maps. The museum's core is doubtlessly the detailed diorama of the night-time Sauer river crossing at Diekirch on January 18th, 1945. Another part is dedicated to the history of Luxembourg's own armed forces. Other sections are dedicated to Luxembourgers fighting in allied armies in both WWI, WWII, and during the Korean conflict.
This is the best and largest museum I have ever visited specialized on World War II. you can see and touch the heavy vehicles used in World War II. military tanks, automobiles, artillery. rifles, machine guns, knives, foods, equipment, medallions...there are some exhibitions showing the daily life of soldiers, you can spend whole day here. i certainly recommend this museum if you are nearby in Luxembourg. you will not regret it.

This is a very wonderful restored castle with amazing history and full of information, especially if you take the tour with an audio guide (early to download on your iPhone). There are many stairs but otherwise it's an easy tour that takes about 2 hours to complete. There is a gift shop and a nice cafe as well, which are attached to the very informative visitor center. Highly recommend - it has views of the quaint city below.

The Luxembourg American Cemetery and Memorial is the resting place of over 5,000 service members who died during World War II, including the gravesite of General George S. Patton Jr. The cemetery is free of charge and open to the public everyday from 9:00am until 5:00pm, except on December 25 and January 1. Please see the cemetery website for more information about traveling to the cemetery, booking free guided tours, and other information about your visit. Cemetery staff are on site everyday to answer your questions and escort family members to their gravesites.
Towards the end of our Viking river cruise from the Swiss Alps to Paris, we toured through Luxembourg and the American Cemetery. Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site atop a gorge cliff. We viewed attractive houses, the Place d’Armes, the Monument of the Millennium and the Grand Ducal Palace. Just outside the city center, the American Cemetery holds more than 5,000 U.S. soldiers buried here after the Battle of the Bulge during the winter of 1945. We saw the grave of General George S. Patton.

If you like the real nature, and if you have interess in ornithology, this place is right for a wonderful walk around the lake and the moselle ; the new construction of the building has a modern architecture and it's recent; there are also good restaurants on the moselle riverside.

This is a delightful walk on a sunny day, even the tiny channeled Petrusse is fascinating. We were staying near to the station so walked down Rue de Strasbourg, Rue des Etats-Unis and Rue D’Anvers and picked the valley up there. The trees offer wonderful shade and a cool breeze blew down the valley. As you walk there are many benches to rest on and enjoy the scenery. Eventually the awesome view of Pont Adolphe opens up and then includes Gelle Fra and the Cathedral. Walking on we reached the Passerelle before turning back but I think you can continue into Grund and the Alzette. It took us a leisurely 60 minutes and was a delightful way to walk into the city.

Due to the isolated location this is an undamaged beautiful preserved castle also on the inside. Due to it s location you need to park (with payment) then either take a medium difficult hike or the bus (payment) to the entrance. On the premises the obligate restaurant and shop. The tour was taken in English but the German guide found the right pronunciation and translation difficult. Inside are gorgeously preserved rooms with original furnature and items, unique! I would not recommend it for people who experience difficulties in walking due to many narrow steps and uneven floors. Despite Corona measures worldwide the group was rather large and rooms small so no way to keep your distance. Organisation wise there is definitely room for improvement.
