Salvador Gimenez

Horseback riding trips in Córdoba, Argentina If you are looking for the best way to acknowledge the nature of the hills of Córdoba, share a typical meal with a gaucho, and discover a new way to relate to horses, this is the perfect trip for you. The idea of the trip is to enjoy a full day of horseback riding with a specialized guide. The day starts at 9:00 am and ends at 18:00 approximately. The guide himself will pick you up with his car wherever you are staying in Córdoba center, will drive you to the ranch "Estancia El Rosal" where the horses live, and later he will bring you back home. The day is divided in two parts so you can enjoy every minute without getting tired. We recommend to bring: A camera, for the outstanding views and beautiful horses, long trousers, sunscreen, swimming suits for the river and hats for the sun

We booked a Gaucho day with Salvador to have a short break from the city of Cordoba! I found his offer here on TripAdvisor and the good recommendations promised a great day out with the horses.... Salvador answered my texts right away and after booking the tour on Saturday evening, we were picked up by his son and him on Monday morning! The two guys were very much fun right from the start and after a quick coffee we headed towards the farm! We helped feeding the horses & Salvador showed us around and explained everything... It was very interesting to find out about the recycling project he initiated and the support it brings to not so privileged people in the area! Of course, we also went for two long rides in the lovely surroundings of the farm. Another highlight was the really tasty and homecooked BBQ around midday - including a good red wine. The trip exceeded our expectations, especially because Salvador and Alvaro are extremely warmhearted and funny people! We have nothing but great memories and wish the family Gimenez all the best!

Estancia El Ombu de Areco

Reviewed By MaureenAlaska - Darwin, Australia

A friend who had visited Buenos Aires recommended that we visit a ranch to experience the hospitality of the ranchers and the gauchos. We were welcomed with cold drinks and empanadas beside the lovely old building dating back to the 1850’s. We wandered around the beautiful parkland with its many old trees and found some very colourful parrots. Then over to the horses to decide whether we would go horse riding or go for a ride in the buggy. We chose the latter and thoroughly enjoyed the ride along the track beside the paddocks. By this time, we were ready for the amazing Barbecue lunch with a lovely wine under the shade of the old trees. So much delicious food that I could not think of eating any food that night. The entertainment came next with the gauchos performing their traditional dances. A young gaucho showed us how they tamed their horses which was so tender and beautiful. Then it was time for the long drive back to the city after a thoroughly enjoyable day.
