The Manor

This is a historic house and is different site altogether from Hemingford Grey House (a residential conference center).

Reviewed By vall110 - Stoke Ash, United Kingdom

Visited the house as part of a WI trip. Diana was very welcoming, even picking up 3 of our ladies who had mobility problems to take them to the house, as direct access by car or coach is not possible. She is a superb hostess, who told us of the history of this house, which is about 950 years old - older than the Magna Carta! An informative tour of the house and the chance to view some amazing quilts made by Lucy Boston, author of many children's books. The house has Norman, Tudor and Georgian features and we had the opportunity to sit and listen to the very 78 record that was played to RAF men during WW2 and in the same room. The gardens are beautiful and set right next to the beautiful Great Ouse. What a wonderful way to spend a few hours - highly recommended!

Cambridgeshire Wine School

For an ideal present buy a Wine Tasting Gift Experience voucher! We can arrange private parties (birthdays, hen nights, staff socials, team building) to suit your choice of date. Plus we offer WSET wine qualification courses.

Reviewed By tanksie - Cambridge, United Kingdom

I decided to give the WSET level 1 course ago after speaking to Mark at the Cambridge Food festival and I'm glad I did. Although I could have jumped straight to the level 2 course (you don't need level 1 as Mark will point out), I'm glad that I did this day course to get familiar with the basics of wine. I enjoyed the pace of the course and how Mark delivered it. He has a great deal of knowledge and a clear passion for them. There is nothing pretentious or snobbish at all, just a good atmosphere and lots of fun. We got to taste a few wines along the way but importantly, we learnt how to spit the wine out - I’ll save the swallowing of the wine for the evenings! Level 1 does give you a good depth of the basics and in one day I certainly came out far knowledgeable than before. I would recommend this course to anyone who wanted to feel a bit more competent when it comes to wine, it also would make a nice gift. Thanks for the fantastic day and look forward to booking onto level 2!

Reviewed By lyndylu56 - Boston, United Kingdom

Bought as a present. Fantastic experience from start to finish. The staff are so knowledgeable and obviously love their birds. Small group made the experience much more personal. We got to handle the birds and also had a flying display where we were allowed to have the birds flying to us and landing on our gloved hands. Totally enjoyable day for any animal lover.

Absolutely loved our time here! A great place with really friendly and knowledgeable staff that have a clear love for their animals. The animals are very well cared for with a large range of reptiles, insects, birds of prey, meerkats. Lots of things to see. The meerkat experience itself was amazing. So great to get to hold and spend time with them. They love the attention and it really was so much fun! Hazel was a great host, very friendly and relaxed. We really did have a great morning and couldn’t recommend coming here enough!! Thank you!!

Jesus College

One of the colleges of Cambridge University that was built on the site of a 12th-century nunnery, and which today features spacious grounds and a pretty 16th-century cloister court.

Reviewed By Mooners97 - Silchester, United Kingdom

We had been invited back to the College to a luncheon celebrating the 60th Anniversary of my matriculation in 1959. We turned the luncheon into a mini break by spending two nights b&b in West Court, from which we had easy access to the Chapel, the Master’s Lodge, Hall & Upper Hall and most other parts of the College. The room in West Court was most comfortable, well appointed and genuinely outstanding. The receptionist at West Court was friendly and extremely helpful; breakfast was good albeit without my favourite cerial 'All Bran' and the service acceptable (if not over enthusiastic). We thoroughly recommend West Court as the place in stay in Cambridge.
