Working Sheepdogs

Reviewed By ElisabettaG43 - Milan, Italy

Everything we read on their website is TRUE, and happened: we attended an amazing demonstration of the shepherd leading the sheep with the help of his dogs, and could participate in shearing a sheep (under Neil’s watchful eye and instructions). He gave plenty of information on his job, and answered any questions the group asked. Then we met the collie pups and the orphan lambs (thanks to Neil’s son for this!), and could buy wee books for the kids: “A visit to Working Sheepdogs”, written and illustrated by Glynis Ross… lovely! Too bad we couldn’t understand almost anything… due to our being foreigners, and to Neil’s strong accent… it was an enjoyable and PRICELESS EXPERIENCE anyway :-D An ADVICE: RE-CHECK THE DEMONSTRATION TIME of your visit! We got there before 4pm, and were told that the on that day, the demonstration was at 5pm… :-o

Well stocked brewery shop. Alas tours not on at present due to Covid. Knowledgeable and friendly gentleman working in the shop though and got an excellent selection of beers to take away. Plus you can see a good amount of the brewery through the large windows in the shop which is a cool touch.

Carrbridge Golf Club

Played the course a few days running at the end on October, winter greens in operation due to the frost. The club house was closed & an honesty box in operation. Met a few of the memebers who were all very friendly and helpful. It’s a 9 hole & relatively short course but a good test of golf. The greens looked in excellent condition although I didn’t get to play them due to the frost. Would definitely look to play it again if I was up there in the summer. A credit to the members & committee.

We had a wonderful evening sitting by the log burner eating the crab pasta (house special) surrounded by local artwork. Friendly and helpful service. We picked this place because it seemed the best in town for vegetarians (and vegans), but we were seduced by the sea food in the end!!

Caorunn Gin Tour

A dry and crisp, aromatic taste adventure. Intimate and personal tours. Insight into Caorunn’s artisanal production process, botanical garden and foraged local ingredients. Behind-the-scenes tour of the production area. Tutored deconstructed nosing and tasting session. Neat tasting and refreshing Caorunn&T with red apple wedges.

Fantastic tour, Gabrielle was really good and explained all about the process and history in an interesting way. Loved the way we learned about the botanicals and how to taste and smell the gin. So much more to the process than we know. Can highly recommend the Highland and raspberry. Both super smooth and taste amazing! Will be back with more friends ????

What a lovely walk through a woodland trail from the Glenmore visitor centre along the Revoan Pass the the Green Loch. We met some local people who told us that the water colour is because the fairies wash their socks in the water in the evening. Magical place.
