The Playground

The Playground is a 1km long outdoor Assault Course with 25 obstacles. Our activities include Pay and Play sessions, Private group sessions, Boot Camp, OCR Training, Stag/Hen do packages, Corporate Events & Sport Specific sessions.

My mum decided she wanted to do an obstacle course for her birthday (62nd!) so I started looking around locally and discovered The Playground. As we were making it a family affair there would be 10 of us so decided to purchase one of their packages and I can safely say it was worth every penny. The site is as you would expect, a load of obstacles in a field but everything is clearly marked. They have toilets, ‘luxury’ showers aka hose pipes ???? and changing facilities for after the mud pits. The obstacles are simple but well put together, everything felt so safe and secure. We had an age range from 9 to 62 with various fitness abilities but we all helped and supported each other which was a great opportunity to have some fun together as well. Even obstacles that people initially felt they would not be able to do they surprised themselves and confidence grew with each obstacle. I cannot thank our playmaker enough, Angie was fantastic, she was great with the younger kids as they were almost too keen in some instances and very encouraging when some were struggling with the higher obstacles. There was no hard pressure to do anything people were uncomfortable with so everyone found it enjoyable. For anyone looking for something to do either on your own, as a small group or a larger group I would highly recommend The Playground! We took a long time to go round as there was quite a few of us and it was more team building and helping each other rather than who can do it the quickest but for those more competitive there is definitely the option to make it more time based.
