St. Michael's Parish Church

Reviewed By Margo7850p

It is a historical church, although rebuilt in some parts. A fabulous church with impressive architecture and stained glass windows. The churchyard is worth a look as well. The cemetery is full of headstones worth taking a look at . Even if you come here primarily for the palace, this church adjoining the palace is very beautiful. Definitely worth visiting for just a few minutes.

Linlithgow Loch is a large expanse of water which is bounded by Linlithgow Town centre to the south and M9 motorway on its northern banks. The Loch is very peaceful and when I visited in September 2020 there was hardly anyone around, there were more swans to be seen than people. It is possible to walk around the full perimeter of the Loch but I had a stroll around the southern banks when I visited which was pleasant and relaxing. Linlithgow Loch is place that is definitely worth exploring when in West Lothian.

Polkemmet Country Park

Went for a walk round this rather large country park, followed two way marked routes both joining lovely forest walk and stroll beside river Almond. Playgrounds for the kids, golf course and driving range Owl sanctuary(closed in winter months) and a small visitor centre that could be a bit more informative although nice to visit. Would be great for kids in summer months.

Well worth the detour to this magical place. The trees next to the war memorial are laid out perfectly. There is Tina of nature here too. I enjoyed learning more about the Korean War. It’s a shame to see people die because if war.

This is a cafe with a small art gallery. Good place to stop after going to Linlithgow Palace. It is right outside the Palace.
