Monastery of Ljubostinja

Reviewed By miladin_jovan - Belgrade, Serbia

One of the most beautiful churches with very nice facade decorations, but with damaged inside paintings. Once they had great red wine from their own vineyard but not anymore.

Reka Vrelo (One Year River - Reka Godina)

Reviewed By zlatab2015 - Sydney, Australia

Well this was definitely BIG surprise. It wasn't prepared to visit this shortest river in the Europe because I never heard of this river. It`s accidentally happened and I am so glad it did happens.Well the Vrelo river or RekaGodina is somethings so unique. In half and hour you can see the river from start to the end , the length of the river is 365mts and that is way it`s had second name One Year River. But its magnificent.I went to see the place where river start and I was blessed with the rich river flow which create beautiful waterfalls.I was able to take great pictures. And its slowly flowing through little village to end up going into big river Drina. Unfortunately there isn't any way to see this waterfall when the rivers join except from river Drina. On the end there are nice restaurants seat nicely with the sound of gurgling stream .I cannot express my happiness with this place.

Nature Park Stara Planina

Very beautiful mountains, little rivers with several waterfalls, great nature, some hotel accomodations like Falkensteiner Stara Planina. The Nature Park of Stara Planina belongs to the best of nature Serbia has to show to tourists.

Manasija Monastery

Reviewed By AlbertSalichs - Manresa, Spain

Manasija Monastery is one if the most important orthodox monasteries located in the center of Serbia. In fact, it is located in the middle of the land and it is the typical walled monastery constructed in Serbia. The monastery is small and surrounded it, there are some important buildings for the religious community. In the Middle Ages, it was necessary to defend the building from Ottoman Army, so it is walled. Wonderful place and a very good experience to begin the trip in October-2019.

National Park Tara

Reviewed By GoGo2SlowGo - Denton, United States

We saw the park when we were traveling from Belgrade toward the Sargan Eight Railway and other stops on a Viator tour. The Drina River Canyon within the Tara National Park is on the tentative list for a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The park is sometimes called the “lungs of Serbia.” It’s located in the western edge of Serbia along the border of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Drina river runs through the park created some very large gorges. However, more than 80% of the park is heavily forested with plenty of hiking trails.

Zaovine Lake

Reviewed By Grada365 - Novi Sad, Serbia

The lake is located at about 800 meters above sea level. It is widest at the dam and from there it spreads in three directions. It is connected by pipes to Lake Perucac and functions as a reserve of water for the Perucac hydroelectric power plant. When is to much water in Lake Perućac, it is pumped to Lake Zaovine, and when there is not enough water for turbines, it returns. Therefore, the height of the water can vary up to 40 meters, and when is filled with very cold water from Lake Perućac the temperature of the lake drops dramatically. Therefore, it is an ideal place for refreshment in times of high summer temperatures. There are two other small lakes suitable for swimming in the area, Spajici and Lipovica. On the high rock near Lake Spajici are the ruins of a medieval fortress, and a little further on begins the beautiful canyon of Beli Rzav. At the dam of the lake is a place where a Serbian scientist, Josif Pancic, discovered an endemic tree species named after him as Pancic omorica. There are three beautiful waterfalls on the Karaklijski Rzav River that flows into the lake. There are several viewpoints in the surroundings, the most beautiful of them is the Janjac, from which one you can see the lake on one side and the town of Visegrad on the other. Zaovine Lake is a great starting point for visiting all these attractions. I hope these comment will help you. If you need any help regarding this or any other attractions in Serbia (location information, transportation, guidance, organizing private tours, etc.) feel free to contact me because I do tours all over Serbia. Enjoy Serbia!

One of the best view! It is worth a visit. If you don't like to climb you drive all the way to the parking and then climb a bit. The climb is short and mild. The drive there is ok. Dirt road but fairly good. Once you reach the main view point, climb a bit further. It is worth it!

Reviewed By black_jack - Belgrade, Serbia

As you can read about Sopocani, this place is work of art and posses really good preserved frescoes. You can also imagine fortress around monastery which brings you back to medieval period. We were visiting during "covid19 crisis" so it was really quiet and peaceful. They also built in front of monastery place to refresh, with few tables and chairs, water and tea, where you can sit and rest for a bit. Definitly worth visiting
