We loved the gardens at The Antique Rose Emporium. The old church is so pretty. Just look at all the bumblebees hanging on to their favorite flower. You can purchase all types of plants for your home. It was so nice just walking around looking at the gardens.

We went to the Blind Willie Johnson tribute concert last night. It was our first time here and we loved it. The tribute is for a Blues musician from the area at the turn of the century and they hold this tribute in his honor every year by bringing in Blues bands on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The band was awesome. We loved the ambience in the biergarten with the lights and the murals and the trees. It was a feel good kind of place. We will definitely be back. We were also extremely impressed with Historic Brenham. It is very charming and we want to return for lunch and to check out the shops. We live in NW Houston so it is about an hour drive for us. Not bad, especially in the Spring when the blue bonnets are out. Also would love to check out their shop. I think it was closed when we got there since it was almost 9:00 pm.

A small park chock full of history. Brenham had fresh water system fueled by a network of cisterns. One of the first in the West. The city has loads of history, pre and post Civil War, a record of gunfights, the Great Brenham Fire, etc. The Park itself is a nice place where to relax and enjoy the solitude.

This is a great stop if you are in the Chappell Hill area. Small lavender farm with many plants in all sizes, some were bloomed in the purple color, other were still green. Small gift shop/store that sells all kinds of products made of lavender, soaps, essential oils, bath salts, etc. They even sell food made with lavender, we purchased the white chocolate, lemon, lavender fudge.....it was out of this world delicious. Great little stop, with super nice people working.
