This tour was perfect for our family. We wanted to go to Normandy but were not confident figuring out all of the trains to/from Paris so finding one that left from Paris was just what we needed. The weather was touch and go leading up to our scheduled tour date but Josef was in constant communication with us on what to maybe expect, if some things might be closed, what possible back up plans could be... thankfully we said lets just do and we are so glad we did! Josef was great, super knowledgeable and informative. It ended up being such a perfect day!

Touring since 2003, Burgundy Discovery has built relationships that enable us to open doors and organise visits that truly go behind the scenes. With a focus upon small Independent Winegrowers who produce high-quality wines, we do not visit larger, more commercial wineries. We are a small team of qualified WSET graduates, who take pride in the quality and professionalism of our tours, as evidenced by our reviews. Being anglophones, we are able to effectively communicate with our clients and understand their needs. Join us to discover the rich Burgundian history which has shaped our great wine region. Stroll in the vineyards; meet the producers; visit their centuries-old cellars and taste their wines. Learn about food and wine pairing and much more on a bespoke private tour day. Enjoying wine is above all a personal experience. Learn about the way you appreciate wine in a fun, innovative way. We may just change the way you think about the fascinating subject of wine forever!

We booked a tour for three of us, including our 20-year old son. Patrick was a great tour guide & lunch host. He was amazingly informative and answered all of our numerous questions. The visits Burgundy Discovery created for us at the domaines were informative and varied and the experiences gave us an entry-level understanding of the vinification process and the AOC system. The serendipity was amazing. (As we drove by Patrick said, "this is a famous climat called La Tache.") It's amazing how these seemingly innocuous plots of land produce these amazing wines. "Oh, there's Romanee Conti!" Highly recommended for all.

I would highly recommend this tour. Nick did a wonderful job of selecting the best wineries in the area for tastings and an education on French wines. Each wine maker shared the winery’s history and a bit on their wine making process. We started in the quaint town of Auxerre and made our way to the lovely town of Tonnerre with an excellent lunch on the way. The wine was great-easy to purchase along the way. Very manageable trip from Paris by train.

This hassle-free tour with private transportation ended up being a Godsend with the transportation strike and train schedules to Versailles being seriously "iffy." Who knows if we'd even made it there without Gustavo picking us up in his comfortable van? Once there, skipping the enormous line also proved worth the extra penny as Paris and sites like Versailles are growing in tourist numbers. Gustavo was interesting, polite and willing to answer all questions related to history, French culture and attitudes. He even set up a private tour of the apartments per our request. It's a long day, but Gustavo didn't overwhelm us with information overload and by the end of the tour, we felt we had made a new friend.

We were supposed to have a tour to Beaune, and because we were 3 we got huge chances to got it cancelled. But, they offered us instead an excursion to côte de nuits... it was better than expected! Emmanuel was a super guide! He explained us everything about the wine making process, took us to 2 places for wine tasting and to the vineyards... I just know how to better enjoy wine thanks to him. This excursion made our experience at Dijon unforgettable even in Corona times! Def if I come back I will go for another excursion with them :)
