My family of four ( my husband and sons 25 and 21) just returned from our first visit to Mexico City. We unanimously agreed that our day with Beto and Jorge was one of our best vacation days ever! The day started with Jorge leading the group of 8 on a tour of a local market- that was both educational and delicious. We learned about the incredients we would cook and sampled amazing local specialties. Jorge then led us back to Casa Jacaranda, stopping along the way to sample tortillas and chocolate. Next stop- the breathtakingly beautiful home of Beto and Jorge. They are masterful chefs and teachers who engaged everyone in the group, ensuring that we each played a key part in preparing the meal. Hours later we sat down for cocktails, home made tacos and other appetizers. We then moved to their beautiful terrace to enjoy the feast we prepared with perfectly paired wine and great conversation! This experience was so much more than a cooking class- it is a unique opportunity to experience the hospitality, warmth and wit of Beto and Jorge who make you feel very quickly like old friends!

Club Tengo Hambre

As one of the largest cities in the world, with nearly seven centuries of traditions colliding daily in this cosmopolitan metropolis that twenty-something million people call home, it’s little wonder why Mexico City has become know as ‘one of the world’s most exciting food cities.’ From its street side food vendors serving pre-hispanic fare to the city’s restaurants ranked among the world’s best, Mexico City—or CDMX as its known in hashtaggable shorthand by locals—is a destination unlike any other city in the world.
