Eden Mill

NEW DISTILLERY CURRENTLY UNDER CONSTRUCTION. UNFORTUNATELY WE'RE CURRENTLY UNABLE TO ACCEPT VISITORS. Just outside St Andrews, Eden Mill is Scotland's original single-site brewery & distillery. Since 2012 we've been brewing and distilling here, creating a unique and diverse range of beer, gin and whisky.

What a great afternoon we had blending our own gin and hearing the interesting takes of gin and the history of Eden Mill from Matthew who was very engaging and a fantastic host. Would absolutely recommend.

Great tour with knowledgeable guide, excellent visitor centre, and very well set up for social distancing on the tour. Nice unhurried tasting, with 3 samples - great to taste the new make spirit, the standard release 'Dream to Dram', but especially the higher abv 'Family Reserve'. Well stocked shop with the bonus of mini's on sale.

Lindores Abbey Ruins

Lindores Abbey, or the ‘Church by the Water’, was founded in 1191 by David Earl of Huntingdon, on land overlooking the Estuary of the River Tay, given to him by his brother King William I. It was built with local red sandstone, and covered a very large area, the extent of which is still discernible today, although many of the buildings to the South have been destroyed. The position for the Abbey would have been chosen because of its plentiful supply of timber and stone, and for the swift running waters of the Pow of Lindores running over the land down to the Tay. Today as Custodians of Lindores Abbey we have built a first class modern Distillery and Visitor Centre across the road from the Abbey, so that we can continue to preserve and restore the Abbey site for future generation and bring distilling back to the Abbey for the first time in over 500 years.

Lindores Abbey Distillery

The Spiritual Home of Scotch Whisky. Revived after 523 years. As custodians of Lindores Abbey, we have made a very sincere commitment to protect this important landmark for future generations. In 2017, spirit started flowing once again from copper stills at Lindores Abbey Distillery. Learning as much as we can from the great Scottish distillers around us, past and present, and from others much further afield, we are bringing a very modern whisky-making approach to this ancient site. Due to Covid-19 restrictions our Visitor Centre and Distillery is currently not open to the public during the week. However if you wish to visit our Distillery, you can book onto one of our pre-booked Tours on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays at 1130 / 1300 and 1430. The Courtyard will be also be open for refreshments and/or pre-booked cheese & charcuterie platters, picnic hampers or luxury seafood hampers on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays 11am – 4pm.
