10 Farmhouses in Italian Riviera: Best hotel deals for 2023

April 27, 2023 Kandra Bartel

Liguria, or the Italian Riviera, boasts a bounty of beaches and resort towns, such as tiny but tony Portofino and stylish Rapallo. Hiking trails lead from Portofino to the villages of Cinque Terre. The Riviera of the Setting Sun runs north from Genoa to the French border. Connected by an extensive rail network, most towns make easy daytrips from one another. Genoa is the region's principal city and is home to attractions from its famous Cathedral and the Palazzo Reale to an excellent aquarium.

Ca du Ferra Farm & Relax

Welcome to Cà du Ferrà Farm & Relax! The farm is located in Bonassola, a small village in the province of La Spezia, in the Riviera di Levante, near the Cinque Terre National Park. The story begins early in the year 2000, when Antonio and Aida, clothing dealer her, building contractor him, to escape from the routine that led decide to change their lives and devote themselves to rural tourism, agriculture and the environment, love that had always kept in the drawer and never want to put away. Over the years they have purchased land and several outbuildings that slowly begin to adjust and restructure, and this is so that by the hands of Antonio and the creative immagination of Aida are born "The Casottino" and "The Mill", recovered with tenacity and passion of two structures used for housing animals. With the old buildings are also retrieved all the vacant lots, parcels cleaned and planted with vines, which is now undergoing conversion from conventional to certified organic agricolture. In all these years we have hosted and met people from all over the world, many of which have become true friends. Staying at Cà du Ferrà Farm & Relax means get in touch with nature, enjoy the relaxing experience 365 days a year and a sincere and genuine hospitality as you have never tried. We are waiting for you with open arms!

Lovely

Relaxed and lovely stay. The hostess is accomodating and gentle. The recommended wine tasting was excellent. Short distance from the trains. Have breakfast in town though :) You can borrow bikes for free to get to Levanto, the best sand beach of the area. Tip is go all the way to the left beyond the house for a small even better beach.

Enchanted Garden

Reviewed By marleo59

This enchanting Agriturismo is based just off the main road between Bordighera and Ventimiglia, a 10 minute bus ride either way. It could have once been a farm house or a villa and lies less than 100 yards from the sea front of Vallecrosia. The rooms are a decent size and have a bathroom, at least those on the ground floor do and to reach them you wander through a lovely, wild garden that seems to emanate magic qualities. The furniture and decor all appear a bit dated which some would find adds to the charm, the shower rooms all seem to have some small defect - we are in Italy, after all - but nothing serious and should just be counted in with the old fashioned charm. We didn't eat there - one of the main reasons for staying - because we like to choose our own meals. On our first visit we had a lovely room, just far enough from the eating area not to be disturbed by the laughter and chatter of the diners eating al fresco, we booked the same room the following year (see, that's how much we loved the place) but unfortunately 'our' room was given away at the last minute, so we were allowed to chose a different one and that way we got to see some of the other rooms leading onto the garden, but a bad choice was made on my part as I (foolishly, I now know) selected a room right near the dining area and we were kept awake by the diners who remain at their tables well into the night! Maybe if we had opted to dine in after all we wouldn't have been as disturbed as we were! We'll know better for next time, yes, next time - it didn't completely put us off returning.

Hidden gem

A hidden gem close to Sestri Levante and a perfect spot to discover the Italian Coastline including Cinque Terre. The breakfast is perfect, their garden where they serve the breakfast is a romantic spot with an incredible view and the rooms are cosy. My boyfriend has a peanut & nut allergy and was not able to eat the home made pie which they served for breakfast, the day after Fabrizia made a pie without nuts that he was able to eat it as well. The hospitality is amazing. We will return this year because we had a great experience.

Beautiful Italian Countryside Stay

Reviewed By Josie035

My family and I spent a week here as part of our summer holiday this year. The owners, Nico and Mavi, were very welcoming and made us feel comfortable. The rooms are clean and have air conditioning which was very pleasant in the middle of summer. The beach in Finale Ligure is about a 10 minute drive away and there are two restaurants which are a 10 minute walk away and serve good food. Breakfast includes homemade jam and fruits. Views were lovely. I would really recommend a trip to Lago di Osiglia which is a lake about 30 minutes away, it is really quiet here and ideal for swimming/walking. Overall we were really impressed and enjoyed our stay here.
