Live demonstrations performed daily! Magic, Inc. is one of the oldest brick and mortar magics shop in North America. Begun as the Ireland Magic Company in 1926, it was incorporated in 1963 by Jay Marshall and Frances Ireland Marshall when it became Magic, Inc. We have continued to be the leading-edge magic source for magic tricks, books, DVDs, lessons and lectures. The shop has been frequented by such magical legends as Penn & Teller, Lance Burton, David Copperfield, Mac King, Johnny Thompson, David Blaine, Doug Henning, Harry Blackstone (Sr. & Jr.) and many more. Magic, Inc. is conveniently located on Chicago's northwest side, about 4 blocks away from the Damen stop on the Brown Line, one block from the Ravenswood stop on the Metra. Our staff of professional magicians makes shopping at Magic, Inc. a unique experience, and also affords a high-level of magical instruction (beginner through advanced). Stop by and ask to see a demonstration - we'd love to show you what you can do!
Months ago I decided to go here as I just thought it would be an interesting spot to check out. Pedro, Luis, Nathan, and the rest of the staff have been super helpful in getting me interested in learning magic. Highly skilled magicians from around the world visit this shop. I've met some really interesting people here, joined a magic study group, and like the lectures they have here. Stop in and learn/buy a magic trick.

Welcome to the University of Chicago! Founded in 1890 through a gift from John D. Rockefeller, the University of Chicago is an intellectual destination and one of the world's premier academic institutions for inquiry, education, and discovery. UChicago draws inspired students and scholars to our Hyde Park and international campuses, placing us at the nexus of ideas that challenge and change the world. Beyond scholarly endeavors, visitors can tour architecture from neo-Gothic to contemporary, meander through lush botanic gardens, experience a broad array of visual performing arts, bike along the historic Midway Plaisance, and discover many other cultural treasures both on campus and off. Hyde Park Community The main University campus is situated just seven miles south of downtown Chicago in the vibrant Hyde Park neighborhood-a tight-knit, diverse community bursting with coffee shops, restaurants, and bookstores. The newly revitalized 53rd Street corridor has become an epicenter for dining, shopping, and entertainment. Hyde Park is also the heart of Museum Campus South, a consortium of museums and cultural institutions on Chicago's Culture Coast including the DuSable Museum of African American History, Museum of Science and Industry, Frank Lloyd Wright's Frederick C. Robie House, the Renaissance Society, and the UChicago's own Smart Museum of Art, Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts, and the Oriental Institute Museum. UChicago's Global Impact The University is shaped and inspired by the city of Chicago. Through growing partnerships with neighbors, UChicago is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life and economic development of the South Side-and to the global reach of its vibrant city. In all we do, we are driven to dig deeper, push further, and ask bigger questions-and to contribute and expand our knowledge to enrich human life.
Only two minutes from the museum of science and industry is the renowned University of Chicago campus. Exploring the museums on campus, the Robie House by Frank Lloyd Wright, Site P-1 where the first atomic reactor was secretly built and miles of paths, trails and parkways through beautiful architecture...Makes for a great half day. On the way back, the Lakeshore drive view is awesome!

Photography and videography are not allowed inside the buildings. The intricately carved marble, limestone, and wood is a must see!

Tribute to Mormon industry and vision. Glimpse of 1840's life in Illinois' 2nd largest city. Beautiful location on banks of the Mississippi. Restored homes and shops. Horse-drawn wagon rides. Pioneer craft demonstrations. Live entertainment. Free to the public. Open 365 days a year.
I just completed a very wonderful Virtual Tour with some amazing Sister Missionaries at the Nauvoo Visitor Center. This tour brought back some great memories for me because I've been there in person, but it's been several years ago and this brought it all back to life for me. They also taught me several things that I didn't learn when I was at the Nauvoo Visitor Center and looking around on my own. So I really appreciated their knowledge about the early Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint Pioneers and their history. This is an experience I would highly recommend for everyone to take advantage of. One of the best parts was I had this experience from the comfort of my own home in Utah! No flights, no rental cars, no hotels, no other travel expenses and all I needed was a internet connection and zoom. Thank you Sisters!

As a local here, I suggest the following things for a one-day tour when you're in town: the Main Library, Altgeld Hall, Lincoln Hall, Morrow Plots, Smith Hall, the Main Quad, the Siebel Center, the Illini Union, the Alma Mater, the Japan House, and the round barns (if you have time).
