Booked a Distillery tour for me and my partner with 7 tastings which was amazing. Firstly it was very easy to book via email. Lauren the person who organised it was very helpful and friendly. Once we arrived onsite we headed into the shop where we took our temperatures for covid and we greeted in a very friendly manner. We were the only people on the tour so it was like our own private tour and tasting. Our tour guide Natasha was very knowledgeable and friendly, and answered all our questions very well while we were on the tour. The tasting was great and it was lovely to be able to taste all the whisky's they had, next to one another, my partner was driving so he even got to take the whisky away in little bottles to try when we got home. Definitely worth a visit!

Benromach

Located on the outskirts of the ancient market town of Forres lies Benromach Distillery. From a small and almost lost distillery emerged a single malt withdistinctive qualities reflecting its hand made credentials as well as encapsulating the self-reliance, sophistication and modern values of Scotland today.Established in 1898, the distillery experienced many closures and changes in ownership prior to 1993, when malt whisky specialists, Gordon & MacPhail rescued it. Following an extensive reinstallation project, embracing the distillery's original character, Benromach was officially re-opened by HRH The Prince of Wales in 1998.Just three experienced distillers create Benromach using the finest Scottish barley and the purest spring water from the nearby Romach Hills. They personally ensure that only the highest quality spirit is filled into sturdy oak casks before being left to mature at Benromach Distillery for many years.

Myself and 8 others on a Rabbie's Tour enjoyed a fabulous distillery tour and tasting at Benromach. Though a small distillery, they truly care about their products, they act like a team/family, and have staff who truly love what they do!! Alec was our guide, and if possible, ask for him--he was witty, had great stories, and spewed passion for the product!! As for the tasting, we got to try 3 expressions, with proper tasting drams, and Alec walked us through each and what made them unique, their main character elements, and how they all tie into the Benromach line. I absolutely love the tour, am a new fan (and member) of Benromach whiskies, and cannot wait to go back with my wife for a more extensive and detailed tasting--it will literally be the first distillery we visit when I return with her to Scotland. They are that good!!!

Acquired in 2017, The GlenAllachie Distillery is 100% Scottish owned and managed, making us one of the few independently owned distilleries in Scotland. The most exciting part of rediscovering a brand is learning about the depth, character and quality that lies deep within each cask - we've unlocked an exceptional single malt, do you dare to discover? Amazing tasting with Graham and Karen. With the unknowns around COVID at the moment we had booked in to do a tour and tasting and had great communication from Karen beforehand. On the day of the tasting we were warmly greeted by Graham and Karen and followed the COVID secure rules. The tasting included 4 drams and a wee glass to take away. Graham ran the tasting and his knowledge was fantastic , guiding us through a virtual tour of the distillery and the tasting of the drams. He was full of whisky knowledge and could answer all our questions. The handmade still & mash tun were brilliant. In the shop the service was equally as friendly and it ended a wonderful visit to the distillery. Would highly recommend a visit.

Gordon & MacPhail

When James Gordon and John Alexander MacPhail announced the opening of their 'centrical and commodious premises' on South Street,Elgin, on 24th May 1895 they would be proud to see it still trading today. Stocking around 1000 different single malt whiskies, the Whisky Room attracts customers from throughout the world. Browsing through the wide selection of whiskies, many of which are very old and extremely rare, is like entering the Aladdin’s Cave of whisky. Please note that the Delicatessen section of the store is currently closed until further notice.

Amanda MacDonald gave us a very warm welcome to her department. Whisky, gin and other lovely selections of rare and unusual alcoholic purchases were available. We were introduced to the Benromach winter gin ‘Red Door’ which was delicious and remained warm in the back of our throats even after leaving the shop. Amanda explained the background and process of the gin extremely well and then informed us about the gin tour which is available at the Benromach Distillery For only £8 entrance fee. Thank you Amanda, I’m sure we will have a great time.

Went to a couple of distilleries before we hit Strathisla. Easy to reach via train, no restaurant on-site but the reception recommended a wonderful cafe not too far. We signed up for the Chivas Blending Experience tour; had Linda as our guide who very enthusiastically took us through a 2-hour tour of the distillery and tasting, answered all the questions we had with a smile, afterwards got to blend our own whisky. Excellent service and staff, wonderful experience, highly recommended, 10/10.

Cardhu Distillery

Share with us the story of the only malt distillery pioneered by a woman. The malt whisky produced here has a warmth and cleanliness of taste which experts describe as "silky" and is used in some of the award winning Johnnie Walker blends.

The Cardhu Distillery was the highlight of our trip! My husband and I did the Collection Tour and found it to be most enlightening. Our guide was friendly and highly experienced as she had been at Cardhu Distillery for 22 years. The guide tutored us in the nosing and tasting of 6 different whiskies. The tour of the whisky making process was amazing as well. I will add that getting to feed digestives (cookies) to the three highland cows in residence there was incredible too (Fluffy was my favorite though)!
