The fjords and mountain ranges of Tromso are simply magical. Here, the northern lights sparkle across the same navy blue sky that's illuminated by the midnight sun. You'll be spellbound by Tromso's enchanting fishing villages, fragrant botanical gardens and crystalline waterfalls. Music is a major part of the Tromso culture, particularly techno and electronic music, which adds some thumping thunder to the city once a year during the annual Insomnia Festival.

We saw the lights beginning of Feb 2020, and due to very bad weather conditions around Tromso, we ended up crossing the Finnish border. Bart was a great guide and did his best to make the tour unforgettable. The spot he picked was fantastic (frozen lake!) and we were lucky enough to see a mesmerising Aurora display that night. We also had some delicious soup and hot chocolate by the camp fire to warm up. Couldn't be happier!

Get a unique perspective on the majestic humpback and Orcas (killer whales) as they feed in the herring-rich fjords of the Arctic. Departing Tromsø in the morning, we head out to where the whales are in time to enjoy the short hours of daylight. On the way you can take in the breathtaking views of frozen landscapes in comfortable, panoramic lounges and multi-level decks. You’ll find a selection of food and drinks for purchase on board. We use a hybrid engine to reach the whale’s feeding grounds, and as we near the whales, we switch to a silent electric engine that allows us to get closer without disturbing them. Please note that the duration of this trip depends on the whales’ location and can therefore range from 6-7 hours. There’s no guarantee, but we’ll always do our best to see the whales!

Inclusions: Restroom on board, WiFi on board

What we had expected (or better: hoped for): For sure: To see the Northern lights and also having a big and good norwegian dinner. What we got: No Nothern Lights (it was cloudy) but instead a dark and very silent fjoerd with many ice floes together with a secret place out of the last world war: Great experience to have that feeling on the deck of that very, very silent hybrid ship. We expected to have a dinner and we got a norwegian tapas meal. It was very tasty, fresh and overall very good. The one and only problem was our expectation reading the word "dinner" :-) so: Let's forget it - it was really good! Next: Have I said something about the ship? :-) Yeah. Great experience overall: Look and feel! What we didn't expect: To have very good conversations with 9 other guests coming from Australia and other countries of the world. Also the guide on board was very friendly and gave us a lot of interest details about the location. Last thing: I did not really expect that our 15 years old teenager liked all of that what I have mentioned above, too! :-) Thank you for all! All of that

With panoramic views and underwater drones, this cruise brings you closer to the epic coastal landscapes of the North. The area around Tromsø is dotted with straights and bays, rich with wildlife, from fish below to eagles soaring above. Set out from Tromsø – the Gateway to the Arctic - for bays, straights and fjords rich in wildlife and history. We make stops at modern fish farms, small fishing villages and ancient island communities on the outside of Kvaløya or ‘whale island’. Out here, facing the open sea, the next stop is Greenland! We deploy an underwater drone to see the rich marine life found in the crystal clear shallows between weather-worn skerries. While onboard, our cafe has a selection of warm drinks, hot lunches, sandwiches, and pastries available for purchase.
