10 Cultural Tours in Munich That You Shouldn't Miss

December 30, 2021 Margarita Chappel

Munich exudes Bavarian charm. Beer fanatics should head immediately to the Hofbräuhaus, a hops heaven that’s been churning out the good stuff since 1589. The drinking is downright legendary during Oktoberfest, a celebration of local beers and German specialty foods. Emulate world-class athletes at the Olympiapark, where skating on the Olympic ice rink will make you feel like a champion. The promenade of Marienplatz is perfect for people watching and gawking at the Glockenspiele of City Hall.

No words necessary for this one... I was for so long trying to visit this Castle and this citythat when I finally got there, I think I even cried ... it was super emotional for me, the only experience in the beautiful town. there is much to do there, apart from the obvious visit to the splendid castle of Neuschwanstein there is also another castle in front the Hohenschwangau Castle, a lake( Alpsee) where you can go cayaking, walk through the splendid forest, many restaurants, museum (Museum der bayerischen Konige), in short there are many things to entertain all the family. I know that I will repeat this adventure again I only stayed one day because I went by bus from Munich and had to return at the end of the afternoon

We did an excellent tour with our guide Paul. We are glad that we did it. He is an excellent knowledgeable guide, very caring and a lovely person. We visited St. Peter's Church, Platzl an der Orlandostrasse, Bayerische Staatsoper, U-Bahn to Odeonsplatz etc with him. He was very nice to us during our entire visit, patience as a guide should be, explaining history of each place along with some fun. If we ever visit Munich again, we shall hire Paul. Highly recommended.

Writing novels inspires me through the fitting and exciting view of history. This is an outdoor tour. We are not going inside museums. Dukes, Generals and kings surround a career of fighting, weddings and the love to the arts. In this tour I bring the participants closer to the sponsors of art and culture in the country and give a first impression of contemporary art in the city of Munich. Reserve a seat for my popular Welcome Tour through Munich. Visit places like Viktualienmarkt hearing about our comediants, Isartorplatz, Red Riding Hood fountain, the royal residence. I tell exciting stories about Munich and its history and you get exclusive tips for your stay and shopping in Munich. The tour progress depends on the group and it is not a marathon. We walk comfortably through the planned course and no one will experience unanswered questions here.

After taking Curts great city tour, I deceided to take his third reich tour as well. He was really able to communicate the depths of the third reich in a way that I had never expierenced before. The tour was augmented by the use of images and videos of the destruction of the second world war and the Hitler and other majior Nazis standing right where we stood. This tour was really able to give me an understanding of how the holocaust came about, something I had never really been able to wrap my head around. Curt took extra time giving us a custom made tour by leading us to different areas based on our specific interests. In addition, he shared stories from holocaust survivors he personally knows. I can only suggest Curts tour as it not only showed me the sights of this dark time, but also taught me a great deal!.

Wonderful tour by a knowledgeable guide before the castle tour! He had obviously done his research and was able to add more, and more historically accurate, details. Lots of "fun" facts, too (I had no idea what BMW stood for or why the logo looks looks like it does. I do now!). He knows all the best spots for pictures and the best times to get them in before the next tour groups arrive. Skipping the line for the castle tour tickets was a real plus. Highly recommend!
