Noor Women's Empowerment Group

This is tour of the Aida Refugee Camp located in Bethelehem conducted by a family who reside in the Camp. This walking tour gives a first hand experience of everyday life in the Camp. The residents here are descendents of Palestinians who were expelled from their villages in the Israeli-Arab war in 1949. The tour concludes with a wonderful cooking class of authentic Palestinian food.

Was there with a group of ten in October 2018. Loved the food and hospitality! I bought their cookbook and have made several desserts since. Highly recommended.

Our whole family participated in the excellent "Breads of the Beit HaMikdash" workshop. Two huge thumbs up! We ranged in age from 8 to 83, and all had a great time. Les Saidel's engaging videos and explanations [leveraging educational material provided by the Machon Beit HaMikdash (Temple Institute in Jerusalem)], set a firm educational background, and bracket the actual baking sessions for several distinct breads that were used in the Beit HaMikdash. It was fun to roll up your sleeves and mix and knead and shape and bake (and eat!) these ancient recipes. I was very impressed with how dedicated the Saidels are to this project. The workshop takes place in their living/dining room, on their dining room tables. Explanatory posters cover the walls and rolling screens are erected in their living room. They even transformed an entire room of their home into to-scale model of a part of the Beit HaMikdash (participants can dress up as kohanim to get the full experience). Even though the workshop is in their home, you can tell they carefully planned the logistics; everything runs smoothly during the 3-hour workshop. An excellent, hands-on, and educational activity for all ages.
