10 Condos in London: Best hotel deals for 2023

April 24, 2023 Natalie Tallman

Ancient tradition and contemporary trend meet in age-old London. One of the most cosmopolitan and dynamic destinations on earth, for centuries the British capital has been on the forefront of whatever has been deemed cutting edge, en vogue, and topical. A thriving metropolis of several million people with a global reach and a worldly outlook, London is at its heart a series of small, interconnected villages with the framework and infrastructure of a modern city joining them together, yet seldom denying each its own distinctive character.

Native Bankside

What: Found on a cobbled street, tucked back from the Thames, this revived warehouse is full of rooms with original features and history. Best bits: Central, accessible, and with its own fitness suite. Native Bankside is a homely retreat from the hustle and haste of outside’s entertainment. Special mention: Once a Victorian tea warehouse, we’ve carefully restored this building to its former glory. Polished concrete, exposed brick walls, and arched factory windows make for a special stay.

So different from our last visit

Reviewed By DjHUK

We stayed here last year and it was excellent, admittedly a few things could have been better - such as instructions on how to use appliances in the apartment and a couple of issues with our key card, but nothing to spoil our stay. So we were really looking forward to staying again. Maybe we picked a bad time for them (with so many hotels and accommodation short on staff). It started to go slightly wrong beforehand, we tried to call customer service and after four or five attempts gave up, though when we followed up with an email it was answered the same day. Then on arrival check in wasn’t as friendly or professional as before (but with only one person on reception and lots of people to deal with,), it was a shame - but no big deal. Like others have reported here, for most of our stay we had no hot water and unlike the last stay when communication was excellent, the team on duty seemed to be under pressure and so communication to guests fell short of the normal standards. When we reported it to the front desk, we were told that the whole building was out and they were trying to get someone to fix it. It was a bank holiday weekend, so I imagine that finding someone was difficult. Added to that on our final night, we were kept awake by an alarm going off somewhere in the building, the people in the apartment a few doors down did alert the person on duty, but nothing could be done. We did want to provide feedback when we checkout, but with only one person on duty (and very busy), our card was taken with no questions about our stay. We will stay again, it’s a lovely location and we had a good stay previously, it would be nice though if the staffing levels improved and the local team had a little more support.

Excellent venue, excellent service

Reviewed By Jenny T

I picked this venue for its proximity to St Paul's cathedral, and it was perfect. For anyone staying in the city, or who wants a base for London tourism this is an ideal location. As an appartment, the facility to self cater is also a big bonus. The apartment was very comfortable and clean and perfect for our needs. A special mention for the staff yesterday, who went way beyond the call of duty, not only in sourcing a taxi for us when the roads were closed (jubilee) but then also liaising with the taxi and wheeling our luggage down to a street where the taxi could actually pick us up. Eternally grateful for this service!

Grand Plaza Serviced Apartments

Grand Plaza apartments give you the independence and catering flexibility of your own home together with the comfort and service of a 4* hotel. Think of us as your home, but with cleaning, catering, porters and reception staff thrown in. Serviced apartments are the new direction for the hotel industry. They provide a ready made home rather than a ready made room. Each apartment has its own fully equipped kitchen. You choose whether to enjoy your own home cooking or try the Grand Plaza Breakfast or visit one of the myriad of restaurants within walking distance of the Hotel (or heat up a takeaway!) Grand Plaza is the largest Hotel/Apartment complex in Bayswater. We won the 2009 award for best serviced apartments in London as a result of votes from the readers of Business Destinations Magazine. We accommodate more people each day (tourist, leisure, romantic and business) than any other Serviced Apartment Hotel in the area.We are located in the centre of the West End overlooking the precise type of garden square which Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts climbed into in the Golden Globe nominated film, Notting Hill! We look forward to providing you with a home in central London.
