Jane Pickens Theater

Love this theater. Like theaters we went to years ago, but much better concession stand. Comfortable seats here are a plus. Must walk up one small flight of stairs, though, which may be difficult for some. Came today for special Great Gatsby package offering of continental breakfast with coffee and orange juice (good selections), the original 1974 version of Gatsby which was very welcome to see, then toured Rosecliff Mansion where the movie was filmed. This theater does nice things like this that keep us coming back for more.

12 of us went to see mentalist, Lon Cerel - amazing! Free popcorn, coffee and homemade cookies. Cash bar for wine and beer. Staff and volunteers very friendly. Small, intimate (seats 50) They are opening a larger venue in 2019 up the street. Something different to do at a reasonable price. I will definately be returning to this little theater.

The Gamm Theatre

Been a season ticket holder for several seasons (more than some folks and fewer years than others). The Gamm chooses smart scripts and produces intelligent, thought provoking theater. The acting is top-notch professional. There is no bad seat in the house, and membership comes with some nice benefits in terms of getting "bring a friend" tickets. Def recommend giving Gamm a try if you have not been.

The firelight at dusk, the river of music floating from unseen outdoor speakers playing off the sound and silence of first enthralled and then reverently attentive crowds, the heat of the lit cauldrons and all the smells sweet and savory, exotic and familiar from invited street vendors combine to create a beautiful sensory experience. Weather you like to be in the thick of a crowd or observing from a distance, Waterfirer provides a memorable night in for people of all ages to come together under the backdrop of the City of Providence.

This is a nice refurbished theater that features many different forms of entertainment. We have attended a few concerts of cover bands that were very good. The place is clean with a bit of historic charm, and reasonably priced for what you are attending.
