Red Earth Riding School

Red Earth Riding School is located in a perfect little nook near Auroville, and has the most welcoming atmosphere. After learning to ride at different schools across South India over several years, I can say that this is by far the most wholesome experience that I have had. From learning exactly how the horse thinks and responds to you, to the importance of groundwork (something I only learned at RERS), and washing the horses -- Red Earth delivers the most uplifting riding experience. The team at Red Earth are very encouraging and personable, and understand first that they are working with people and animals and that the school is not a business. It is very refreshing to be around staff that are so patient and always happy to help and explain something to you. They offer several areas of coaching and training, from dressage and jumping, to groundwork and leadership programmes, and anyone can try any thing! Red Earth also provides accommodation for those who just want a quiet getaway in nature around animals -- it is home to highly rated The Black Box home (check Airbnb) that houses several guests and offers a bunch of fun activities, including surfing and barbecue nights! Jacqueline's troop of dogs are great fun to be around and provide lots of love and laughs to the horses and the school! In my opinion, it is the best place to learn to ride and get oneself some essential animal therapy.

Cook With SundariKrishna

Continuous interaction with a number of International visitors to Chennai, India during the last few years, has encouraged me to provide a platform where guests are not only in a position to enjoy the nuances of Indian fine dining but further learn the art of cooking depending on their interest. The guests can choose from a variety of menu lists which will be provided through email on booking. I also teach Ayurveda and Vegan recipes

Walking into SundariKrishna's house is like walking into a warm hug. I went to a private cooking class and came out with so much knowledge about traditional south indian food and culture, not to mention some great new skills that I've been trying out back home! There were so many options for food and I got to try some vegetables and spices that I've never tried before. I attended the class on Diwali and was so accommodated and spent the evening eating the food we had prepared and enjoying the company. This was such a unique and amazing experience, I highly recommend this for couples, families and solo travellers alike

What a delightful couple Rosy and Inbakanth are! Despite the sadness of a recent family loss, they welcomed us into their home and introduced us to their way of life. Firstly, Inbakanth took us to the spice market and explained the dietary advantages to certain spices, demonstrating that there is much, much more than just adding curry powder to our food - everything has a reason! We were amazed at the vast quantities available and which are sold every day! After about an hour at the market, we returned to the house and Rosy showed us how to produce a delicious lunch in minutes. I had forgotten all about pressure cookers years ago, yet it proves to be a vital part of what would otherwise be lengthy meal preparation. They clearly are very happy in what they do, working together so well and had no hesitation discussing their lives and customs. It is an altogether authentic insight into daily family life and we thank them for sharing.

What a wonderful time it was to learn about Ayurveda from Susan, through her amazing Ayurvedic nutrition consulting. I've always had interest in Ayurveda, but hadn't gone much further. Now I know why I felt uncomfortable after eating salad or yogurt with fruits, which I always thought as a good habit. So interesting to know my body type, which makes a lot of sense to me. Highly recommended for anyone interested :) Maiyam past foods, close from her place, was also very nice. They serve amazing food based on Ayurvedic methods. I'm now even more interested in this deep ancient knowledge :)
