Romance and adventure are in the air on this lush West Indian island in the Caribbean, depending on your coast. To the west, you'll find calm waters and good swimming. To the east, there are massive, competition-caliber waves. Wherever you stay, expect turquoise waters, fine soft sand beaches, catamaran cruises and delicious island fare.

We joined mass at this jewel on the Caribbean Sea in Barbados. First thing we noticed - the large glass windows overlooking the sea. The mass itself was beautiful - uplifting songs, joined hands for ‘our Lord’s Prayer, and very meaningful sharing of the sign of peace. There were also much needed prayers for unity amongst all churches as well as a thought-provoking sermon. Thanks to the parish priest and all the parishioners for a warm welcome.

Without doubt this is one of my favourite attractions on the island. Probably not the easiest to find but google will get you there - good sized car park. This is a church of great history, charm and character and situated high up with truly wonderful views of the scenic and rugged east coast. A well maintained church with loyal support and the wall plaques certainly take you back in time. One looks out of the church windows and can see the east coast down below in the distance. The graveyard is also well worth a visit and looking at the headstones simply confirms the history of the place. The coastal views are absolutely awe inspiring and what a wonderful last resting place this must be. There is a nice shop and toilets - I think the church does get quite a few cruise ships tourists but mercifully when we were there it was quiet as sadly lock down was approaching. Opposite the church is a lovely vicarage which I understand is empty at present as they are waiting a new vicar. I could easily stay here a couple of hours at this wonderful church and it is often in my thoughts. Do try and visit if you can.

St Dominics ticks all the boxes for your Sunday Mass, a welcoming priest & congregation, good choir, great ventilation with massive ceiling fans & ample parking.

We saw the church on our way to snorkel and stopped by later that day to explore. The stained glass was enchanting and cast beautiful colors onto the hardwood pews that complete the historic feel of this wonderful little church. We enjoyed a few minutes out of the bright and direct sunlight in this little gem.

This is a beautiful church centrally located and feels rural. It was included in my walk around Bridgetown, easily reached from the cruise terminal.. It’s like being at home as this church is so like ours. A great place to discover a little history.
