Why Not Angkor Driver

Reviewed By SnipsAhoy - Madison, United States

We arrived in Siem Riep and spoke to the hostel staff about all the things we wanted to see in the few days we had. They immediately called to see if Rith (aka Mr. Why Not) was available to show us around, and lucky for us, he was! We were extremely fortunate to have such a safe, funny, kind, and accomodating driver to suggest the best places to see at the best times, and to go above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and making the most of our visit. We even asked him to go off the beaten path and take us to a remote temple in the forest, to where no tuk tuk has gone before, and this was his response: "Why not?!?" He provided honest answers to all our questions about past and current life in Cambodia, the drastic changes that the country is experiencing, and he had us laughing all the time with his stories. After three days with Mr. Why Not, we are happy to call him a dear friend and would highly recommend that anyone on vacation in Siem Riep reach out to him and make your Cambodian experience amazing!

Giant Ibis Transport

Reviewed By Gea7798 - London, United Kingdom

Bus travel through Asia is always difficult and you can usually expect pretty uncomfortable journeys so when I booked Giant Ibis for our travel through Cambodia I was expecting a really standard service. However, I was blown away by how good they are and they are even better than National Express and Megabus which we use in the U.K. We ended up using them for all of our travel, from Ho Chi Minh to Phnom Penh, down to Sihanoukville, night bus to Siem Reap and then across to Bangkok. I have made a summary of our journeys below: Ho Chi Minh to Phnom Penh Scheduled to arrive at 16:45 but arrived 18:30 (you can expect to arrive around 2 hours after the scheduled time and this is due to border control). We were given complimentary pastries and water. We paid $35 total for visa, no extra charges and we didn’t need to supply a photo to border control contrary to other reviews. We were through the border in about 40 mins and you get a lunch stop there too. Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville Left and arrived on time and given complimentary water and food. Friendly guide kept us informed the whole way and dropped us just up from the pier, 2 min walk so we could get the ferry to Koh Rong. Sihanoukville to Siem Reap night bus Left in time at 7pm, you have to walk up to the roundabout up from the pier to catch the bus, this was very unclear at the time. Night bus was comfortable, WiFi on bus plus chargers and air con. Slept all the way through undisturbed. Arrived ~7am in Siem Reap with tuk tuks to take you into town. Sihanoukville to Bangkok Left on time at 8:45, gave us Nescafé ice coffees and free vegetable fried rice for lunch. Border control was easy to get through although a bit unclear on where to go but we found our way. Arrived Bangkok at 18:15 (note, there were no taxis or tuk tuks at the Makkasan station so we had to get the train). Really recommend these guys to anyone travelling through Cambodia! Made the whole experience extremely easy.

The life-support system and gateway for the temples of Angkor, Siem Reap was always destined for great things. Visitors come here to see the temples, of course, but there is plenty to do in and around the city when you're templed out. Siem Reap has reinvented itself as the epicentre of chic Cambodia, with everything from backpacker party pads to hip hotels, world-class wining and dining across a

Angkor eBooking Expreas ( Siem Reap)

Reviewed By Travelling_SE_Asia - St. Albans, United Kingdom

Very cheap ticket if you look online at various websites. ‘Book A Way’ was the cheapest for this journey by $2 with the journey costing $10 in total. An absolute bargain considering the length of the journey. Free pickup from the hostel. Oddly, five people and all our bags fit inside the 4-person Tuk Tuk with people sitting on laps. The driver put my big 60L bag on the seat of the motorbike and sat on it. Quite comical! Bus was new and modern inside, a Toyota, and the engine sounded well-maintained. Leather seats which were comfortable by usual minibus standards. Air con worked very well. I noticed an air vent for each seat (three in a row). The breaks are good on the bus! Driver was professional and courteous. The stop was made as planned roughly half-way through the journey and we had 20 minutes to stretch our legs and get something to eat. As is usual with transportation in SE Asia, people were picked up along the way. I just wanted to mention, before I finish this review, that they lady working behind the desk at the check-in office was lovely. She deserves a promotion!

Mekong Express

We spent the night at a waterfront hotel in Chau Doc, Vietnam. The Mekong Express pick us up from our hotel, prepared all paperwork for our Cambodia visa, escorted us through the border checkpoints, then zoomed up river to Phnom Penh. Very easy. Very efficient. Very low cost. This was a fun experience, and a quick way to cross the border. Highly recommend, either direction.
