10 Bus Tours in St. Thomas That You Shouldn't Miss

August 2, 2021 Janette Largent

Like all of the U.S. Virgin Islands, St. Thomas has plenty of opportunities to lounge on the beach, splash in the sea, or amp it up with watersports. It also boasts a bountiful duty-free shopping scene – just be prepared to brave the cruise ship crowds. Charlotte Amalie swells with Danish colonial architecture and pirate legend. Shiver ye timbers at Blackbeard’s Castle, then work up an appetite by climbing the historic 99 Steps, constructed from the ballast bricks of 18th century Danish ships.

We were picked up promptly and on time from the airport in a large passenger van, and our tour of the island began with some shopping in Charlotte Amelia, followed by some site seeing of the beautiful island. Slightly disappointed as I was hoping for a lunch stop or a bite to eat. Otherwise, the tour and our driver Mr. Sunny was great! Our tour ended being dropped off at our resort in time for a late afternoon check-in.

This excursion was a joke honestly. You kayak through a dark Water channel where you get eaten up by mosquitos and tangled with other kayakers because it’s so busy, to a big ass lagoon. You get with your group and they have you link all the kayaks in a row. When we asked where the glow is she took out a tarp and said we have to go under the tarp to see the glow. So here we are 6 canoes long under this big tarp, having to splash the water to barely see a little glow. Not at all what they advertise. Was a waste of time and money unless you enjoy kayaking and getting attacked by mosquitoes.

Just arrived back to the states from USVI for a bachelorette party for a friend. There were 7 of us total, and we stayed in RedHook for the short time we were there. I found PT on Google and saw the great reviews ~ so we chose to go with them for the airport and all week to and from locations for our trip. Excellent decision! Big Moe waited a long time for us as our check bags were delayed coming out. Even sacrificed other rides to wait 1+ hours for us. Very quick to reply and very efficient. Always available (or someone is available) for an ASAP trip to a dinner venue, ferry dock, etc. Would highly suggest airport and all stay transport. Thanks Moe & Paradise Taxi team!

We had a really good time on the treasure hunt. At first we were not sure about doing the augmented version, but since we were with our special needs daughter, that worked out great. She was good at operating the iPad, so she was able to contribute the whole time, even if not understanding the clues. Anthony was great! So much fun and was especially good with our daughter. Fun way to spend a morning, get some island history and see a beautiful beach.
