Great place with highly significance in Indian history, great experience in meditation room at smarak, you can see the souther tip of India with Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal & Indian Ocean coming together at Sangam. Rock is magnificent & with Parvati mandir. Normally during weekends there is huge rush & waiting time for boat will be between 1-2 hrs, there is special entry also available at Rs 200/- per head. It takes around 2 hrs to complete this trip.

It is a place GOD Brahma, vishnu and siva bless his devotees at a single place. Ancient temple following the culture and rituals without any compromise. Boys have remove their shirt to enter the temple. Very very powerful and ancient temple. You should appoint a guide, to understand the " STHALA POORANAM" A MUST TO VISIT PLACE OF ALL HINDU DEVOTEES.

The visit to arguably the southernmost Jain Chaitya in the sub-continent is worth the journey on a meandering route and the arduous trek it calls for. The Kshetra(Chaitya) at Chitharal enshrines Parswanath and Mahaveera, the 23rd and 24th Theerthankaras of the world's oldest school of thought founded by Rishabhadeva, the history of this sect of Sanathana Samscruthi ,Nirgranthas, goes as far back as 600BCE. Caves typical of the Jain ascetics' shelters suggest that they must have been in existence for over 2300 years, if indeed the Jain order spread to southern parts of Bharthavarsha following Bhadrabahu I and Chandragupta Maurya's sojourn in the region. There is nothing surprising about the serenity of the shrine as the Jain ascetics, unlike the Buddha Bikshus, were known to lead a strict renunciatory life devoid of social contacts and patronage. The bas-reliefs on the rock face are noteworthy not only from the historical point of view but aesthetic perspective as well. The steep climb up the stone-paved path to the rock-cut temple more than redeems the effort when the hilltop finally offers a panoramic view of Nagarcoil and Sahyadri, apart from the tranquillity and the fresh air in abundance. As one of the reviewers remarked, one has to carry water bottles since no such facility is currently available atop the hillock. The Caves, Shrines,Vimana, garden and the moat are all maintained in excelent fashion. There is a keeper, a local resident, appointed by ASI to take care of the heritage site which remains open 8am to 5 pm everyday. It would have been better, had ASI put up the descriptive plaques right in front of the carvings/edicts rather than just at the entrance. It is an ideal place for anyone who would like to soak in the air of antequity and sit by oneself lost in the silence of the higher terrains. From atop this hillock, the history of this land beckons its posterity.

Worship of the cobra is an ancient practice in southern India. This temple is dedicated to worship of the snake and is very special. It is built in the Kerala style. Beautiful and peaceful temple.

If you are touring around Kanyakumari district, Mathur Aqueduct or Mathur Hanging Trough is a must see place.. such a breath taking structure built in 60s for irrigation purposes. With a height from the bridge, you can experience a wonderful scenery of lush forest and river on both sides. When you get down on the other side of the bridge, you can even take a small dip in the river during seasons, since the water is clean too.. it is a wonderful experience to witness the river, the trees surrounding it and also the magnificent bridge...

Nice place to take a break from Nava Tirupati tour and enjoy the Saravana Bhavan lunch. I did not visit the temple here. You can reach Tiruchendur after lunch and come back to Nava Tirupati tour. A good place to take rest and good food.

Like the name suggests, there are big conch stature built. If you visit the place in the mid day time, you can see people collecting conch mostly for commercial purpose. Beautiful small beach. You can spend quality time there. Since there is no rush you can take plenty of pictures and capture till you drop. You can also have a good view of sunset.

As the name indicates,there is a big sangu(SHELL) located near the shore.The beach looks clean and less crowded with less shops. Sanguthurai Beach is one of the calmest yet cleanest beaches that you should go to, during your visit to Kanyakumari. Sanguthurai Beach is located in the southernmost part of India, and you can feel the fierce power of the Indian Ocean there. However, Sanguthurai Beach is a pretty tranquil place with white sand beaches that sets a perfect background to the coastlineYou can also see Vivekananda Rock Memorial from here in the coastline of Sanguthurai Beach. If vigilant enough,you can also spot a white pillar protruding from the sea at Sanguthurai Beach. In addition to all these attractions,its lukewarm water is perfect for swimming.

A great Beach to visit! Only an hour drive from kanyakumari. Very Calm and relaxing.... So clean and clear water and very less crowd (Actually no crowd when I visited) The Best time to visit it is during evening ( preferably sunset) Not advisable to visit it from 10am to 2pm as it is so hot. Anyways a great place to visit.
