The completion of a new all-weather road from Wewak to Kanduanam Bend on the Middle/Lower Sepik has opened up day tripping to the Sepik River. Hire a guide and car in Wewak for the day and an outboard motor canoe with fuel at Kanduanam and you can visit villages as far upstream as Timbunke and Tambanum, or down to Kundima (Yuat River), Moim and Kambaramba and still return to Wewak for dinner.
