Voie Verte du Lac d'Annecy

Reviewed By charbs1 - Beirut, Lebanon

We rented our bike from Annecy then we went direct South-West you can check the pic that is attached to the review. We thought we'd do an hour and then the ride was so beautiful that we decided to continue all the way. We stopped just before Talloires town and had lunch there on a beautiful place by the lake called "Bistrot du Ponton". The ride is 42km in total from and to Annecy. It took us around 6 hours to do it in total (taking pics + lunch + enjoying). There is a part just after Talloires town that is very difficult and we had to walk with our bikes (we were not able to bike it). I have highlighted this place in black. Long story short, the ride is most beautiful on the west side of the lake - not extremely pretty from the east side (so if you're short on time and not willing to get tired, stick to the west side of the lake), andif you'd like a little adventure and have some time to spare go ahead and do the full tour but expect to be tired if you're an intermediate biker!

La Dolce via

At the end of the 19th century, the Ardèche Railway Company built a single-track railway line to open up the Boutières region and transport local products. Today, the rail route has been transformed into a gentle picturesque path, ideal for walking, cycling and horse-riding. The Dolce Via follows the river through the Eyrieux and Doux valleys, offering spectacular views over the surrounding landscape. Great for cycle rides and easy walks, with family and friends or for time out by yourself, there’s lots to see along the way. Please note, a bus service, with bike rack, can transport you to an access point.
