Grassroots is at the foothills of the Vythiri ranges with the majestic Chembra peak to the left and the Banasura/Kuruchermala to the right. The property straddles a tea estate and has a swift flowing river with a Pannia (a tribe found in Kerala & Tamil Nadu) colony at the edge of the river. Set on a three acre slope of coffee, areca nut and pepper, Grassroots overlooks the tea plantations planted during the colonial era. A quaint stream below forms a general area of activity for the scattered population of tribals and other residents. The Banasura range of mountains beyond completes the picture, making it truly magical. Accommodation is in Luxury Swiss tents, spacious and plush with every amenity that the discerning traveler would want.

Reviewed By AbhishekbangA Smelly tent with NO Light inside the room, NO Amenity, NO food . You have to order food and wait for at least 1-2 hour.. Be careful when you visit with your family. There is no manager so don't expect much from helper. We left the property as we didn't find safe for kids. Please see recent review before booking. we have done mistake as Goibibo have give false review in website. Before COVID this Place might be good but this is my review. ONE more important thing i missed out.. 1. You don't expect anything from owner of the property .. He don't bother for all this this. He is not going to refund single rupee. 2. Goibibo website is for booking the site and surely not for solving the problem. They clearly said we can't help on this, Thank you

Reviewed By giji365This is my third stay at Mintotel in the last 1 year. Very happy to see that they have maintained the property very well. Very courteous and helpful staff too. Modern rooms with good amentities. They now have room service too - which was not there the last time I visited. Overall, a very pleasant experience.

Food service was really great only thing is that they can include more options in Menu which they are already working on . Pleasant atmosphere and felt like staying in home ?.

This resort has the best view from all the rooms of the Mount Chembra, the highest peak of Wayanad. There are two types of rooms- 4 nos of Premium apartment suites having approx 675 sq ft full furnished drawing room, two balcony, bedrooms, two balconies and six rooms with balconies and 300 sq ft excellent quality rooms. There is a mountain stream inside and the resort is surrounded by tea gardens and natural forests.We can arrange trekking, camp fire, tribal dance, archery classes and tribal cuisine. River walk, rafting, tea garden walk etc are other attractions.
Awful place not at all like on the photos
Reviewed By anonmossesI visited this place with my wife last year. Our experience was not anywhere near one would expect looking at the reviews on Tripadvisor. The place was mostly a 'dead version' of photos you see on the Internet. They call it tree house, but it is just a wooden box placed about 2 meter above ground on iron pillars; attached nowhere on a tree. The room was poorly maintained. You could feel dust on the floor, the bed covers and pillows were not washed after the previous use (stains, smell and hair), the bathroom smelled like a swamp. The whole thing was placed inside a coffee plantation, but we couldn't see any signs of it being an explorable or at least friendly place. There were not enough lamps on the walkway, which itself was a mix of stones and dirt with no useful landscaping anywhere. At night, it felt actually scary, but not the adventurous kind of scary. This place is 100% worth a skip; you could find better places in Vayanad.

I so looked forward to meet the elephant visitors.... Guess a longer stay would make that dream come true. Thank you for this wonderful meaningful experience i must say ... especially to Shibu and Pravin they were around all the time to cater to every need and yes they were great listeners ... The Gazebo in the evening makes one talk endlessly so yes i was in my usual banter and they patiently heard every word. The food was simple and hearty . A big thank you to Zafar, ur courtesy and hospitality will always be remembered. Take in the crowning glory of the hills with this homestay

Reviewed By 557ravishankarmThis hotel and the owner Mr Sattar is a case study. I was seriously gobsmacked to see the brilliance with which they handle the customers. I seriously dont know if I need to give an edge to their food or to their customer service. From parking to the service to the food, this place is full of surprise. But the most surprising element is the owner Mr Sathar himself and he truly amazed us with the way he treats the diners. We had met him in the morning during our stay and had a small talk where he advised us with the places we can go to and in the end asked us to give him a ring before we come to lunch that he can get us a table but since we had to go there abruptly as a friend of us were there for lunch and did not inform Mr Sathar. But to our surprise he identified us and quickly arranged a table for us in the packed restaurant. The foods were absolutely great and what makes it better is the quality that did not make the heavily binged food bloat our bellies unlike many other places. We had gone back next day with our friends and found the food with the same taste and consistency. There is not further testimony requires when 2 parathas and a bib bowl of beef did not make the stomach bloated and nudged you to sleep. This place will be the first place we will go to dine thenext time we are in Bathery. We also had a nights stay at Wilton and found the rooms one of the best we have been to. Big, Spacious, Clean, well kept and definitly worth the money

Clean bathroom with hot water facilities; Comfy bed; A big mirror and enough cupboards; a side table; Clean blankets and bedsheets provided; A convenient dining table and two comfortable chairs. There is a view of the mountains; also a small sitout area in the ground floor though a shared one. Breakfast was also good. Very helpful host. The place is very near to Kalpetta town and easily accessible. Altogether, enjoyed the stay.
