Reviewed By Pioneer216824Often traveling from Namibia to Cape Town, we usually overnight in Springbok as a half-way stop. We have stayed at many facilities in the town, but friends suggested we should try Kleinplasie. We have not been disappointed. The friendly service, the room, the setting and ambience. Everything you don't expect. We will definitely return in the future. Thank you for a plasie in the middle of the town.

Delicious food and a well appointed cottage, made for a very pleasant overnight stop. I would choose to stay a bit longer net time

Reviewed By Sharron AWe stayed three nights and were happy with our room, though it was furnished in a more traditional way than we are used to. Breakfast was always generous with well made omelettes as well as toast and croissants. A useful first time was to have a toaster on our table so we were always able to have hot toast. Petronella was an attentive owner who organised a wonderful trip to see the flowers.

All our rooms do have air-conditioning, mini fridge and DSTV (sport and movie channels). We offer free, safe parking and free WiFi at reception area. We offer dinner when arranged in advance and nice breakfast options as well. There is also a nice gym/fitness and karate centre on the premises. Self-drive tours and private tours into Namaqualand with some horse riding, river-rafting & mountain biking can be arranged on request. This is the perfect place to relax and rejuvenate the soul. A home away from home. Meet the owner and have some great info on Namaqua Life!!!
Springbok - the town with the richest history! You will know this when staying at Elkoweru!

You see churches, hotels, memorials, etc. But do you really ever know anything about these places except for what little information is scratched into a little plate that forms part of a place with such a rich history. We passed through Springbok and stayed the night at Elkoweru Guest House on our way down to Cape Town and oh my, was this a treat! We had the warmest welcome from the owner, Konrad, whom we just met upon arrival. He is a fellow karateka of my best friend/boyfriend/travel buddy's father. We had the best 14 hours in Springbok. From dinner to a good night's rest to a delicious breakfast to a quick drive through and around Springbok. We have learned so much from Konrad. He is such a pleasant host with the world's knowledge about Springbok, the surrounding area and the history that created this jewel in the Northern Cape. It isn't the Nawakwa-flowers that makes this place special. It obviously contributes, but there is so much more to this little town and Konrad knows it all. If you ever do pass through Springbok, Elkoweru is an absolute treat and most definitely the place to stay!

Reviewed By StevenF3888Well fitted out rooms that were spotless. We had a full bathrooms(bath, shower, toilet). There is a bar downstairs and dining area upstairs. Braai facilities available as well. I would say the only possible negative could be that noisy or loud guests could disturb others due to the layout and proximity. We were aware of this and were quiet during morning breakfasts, evening coffee. Perhaps a door to separate the upper dining area from the rooms or just courtesy from guests. All staff were friendly. Saving, the best for last was the manager and chef, Bester. You're an awesome guy! The most friendly and helpful person we've met in years and what a chef. Awesome breakfasts! And was a pleasure to engage with too. Thank you, Bester, you're worth your weight in gold!

Camels and Flowers - loads of fun
Reviewed By Else be VThe Hananja Lodge is over the hill from Springbok on the Kleinzee road. It is clearly visible from the R355. The rooms are very clean and spacious and the bathroom is large. The bed was comfortable. The self catering units at the back are larger, with a sitting and eating space. The only problem was that the water was cold, and a cold shower on a chilly morning was not a good idea! There are some animals on the farm - mountain goats, cows, donkeys and Gert the camel who is a gentle soul. The internet was down when we were there, which is very inconvenient as it is impossible to pay per credit card. We never travel with cash any more because of the crime/safety factor, and a trip to the ATM more than 6kms away in the centre of Springbok was not convenient. A warning when we booked that there were internet problems could have solved this, as cash for a two night stay could have been arranged.
