I have been travelling through Springbok regularly since 1974 and was pleasantly surprised to discover Tauren - which apparently opened in 1987 ! Lovely atmosphere and really good steaks. Service is good under the watchful eye of the manager. The lamb neck and lamb shank is also good.

Arrived on Monday for lunch, staff was sitting at one of the tables chatting, eventually stood behind the counter and proceeded in chatting whilst ignoring us.
I reminded them that we were customers , and that their attitude was unprofessional.
The smiles eventually appeared, and then the "piece de resistance "
Sorry meneer we dont have chips or chicken.
What at NANDOS ??? it prides itself in just that.
Awaiting supplies.

Travelling from Namibia on the B1 / N7 to Vanrhynsdorp; we make a quick pit-stop at this unique gemstone in Namaqualand. It was a very hot day and tiring travelling so far, and to regain our tourist spirit we needed to quench our thirst and fill our tummies. Springbok Lodge, located almost in the center of Springbok was the right place to be. Exceptional hospitality and friendly staff provided the required service. Inside dining take you back to the 50s & 60s. History welcomes you with open arms and for a moment you are lost between time & space. The gemstone collection are rare and very interesting BUT the great food portions at a great price let anybody leave with a smile and satisfaction. It caters for all taste buds and the milkshakes and real big "slap-chips" is to die for. I will always make it a regular pit-stop and STRONGLY RECOMMEND it to any traveler who shares value and local hospitality...Thank You management & staff; we'll most definitely see you soon! Keep the winning concept...

We were so grateful that the lady at the museum recommended the Herb Garden. We could not stay away. Fabulous coffee and cakes to die for. Fresh delicious home-made meals, lovely garden setting, and, the friendliest made us make many happy returns. ?

About 4km outside of the town Springbok, you just turn off to the Tsamma Restaurant at Daisy Country Lodge, to come and enjoy this unique restaurant and its unique atmosphere. The Tsamma Restaurant is also wheelchair friendly. Tsamma Restaurant will only be open for dinners ON Reservations.

This restaurant is in a nice setting has a good wine selections and the food here was a good surprise albeit the menu is limited further compounded by the restaurant being out of a few items on the menu. Definitely recommend it though. Good sirloin !
