Staying at Palazzo Favacchio – Patanè

Reviewed By mikaila86151

The Albergo Diffuso offers an ample choice of rooms all around Scicli. For our stay we chose an elite Room at Palazzo Favacchio – Patanè. The building is a renovated palace which belonged to a Sicilian noble family. The decor is superb and the location is in the heart of Scicli, at a 5 minutes walk from the Municipio (where the Inspector Montalbano's office is situated). We can't speak more of the professionalism and welcomness of the staff. We arrived by train just when it had started raining very hard, and we called them from the station asking for assistance. In five minutes, they booked a taxi for us that brought to the Palazzo. They gave us, when checking-in, all the info about the area and what we could do. The next day, we had breakfast at the Cafe' Vindigni (in front of the Municipio). They had reserved a room for all the guests of the hotel, it was a very safe enviroment and breakfast was served observing all the COVID-19 regulations. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious, we couldn't have asked for more. We would definetly reccomend the Albergo Diffuso!

B&B Casa di Pam

Comfortable and convenient

Reviewed By GeoffGuiseley

A lot of research on TA led me to book this B&B for our 4 day visit to South East Sicily and I was very happy pleased with my choice. We arrived a bit late due to flight delays and getting tangled up in some very narrow streets. (In Scicli stick to the main roads whatever the SatNav says!) There was no one at Casa di Pam but Alessandro responded quickly when we phoned one of the numbers given. The B&B is in a quiet narrow street and is actually only 5-10 minutes on foot from the old centre of the town which gets nicely busy on a summer evening. Alessandro gave us an excellent recommendation for dinner (good enough for us to return again twice) and he also helped us to find a parking spot – this can be a bit of a problem, but we did manage to find somewhere nearby each evening. Casa di Pam is a simple unpretentious place but has everything you need. Our room was a reasonable size with comfortable beds and a smallish bathroom, but there was a fridge and good internet, the shower was hot and everything was very clean and well looked after. Although we were so close to the town centre it was generally quiet at night. Be aware that there are quite a lot of stairs up to the rooms. I had seen some comments about the breakfast, but we found it really good. There were croissants, fresh bread rolls, cheese and ham, lovely homemade jams (lemon especially good) and plenty of good coffee. You could finish up with homemade cake or crostata (fig very good). If all tables were occupied I imagine it would be a bit crowded, but that wasn’t the case for us and I doubt it would often happen. Pam and her helpers were always cheerful and helpful and made us feel at home. If we did return to this part of Sicily we would certainly stay again in this beautiful town and at this friendly and comfortable B&B.

Beautiful and central

Reviewed By B1988IWsofiaa

Palazzo Conti is every bit as beautiful as it looks in the pictures. It is a large palace, with beautiful decor. The rooms are bit barren, but with ample space. Staff is super accommodating and welcoming. We asked for a few lacking amenities and they fixed it promptly. The palace is in the old part of town, close to views and restaurants. Warmly recommend!

A wonderful b&b in the middle of flourishing garden

Reviewed By Jari J

Sampieri has one of Sicily's most famous beaches: a 2-km-long sand beach that deepens very slowly and there were no medusas there while we were spending time in town. I swam a lot. Absolutely delight. There are not many accomodation options around but luckily there's one great b&b little uphill, Poggio Bellavista. The vista is really bella, you can see from the top of the hill a whole Sampieri beach and also farther around. The b&b is kept by Dora, she is full of energy, ("like a volcano", another guest characterized) - but only in a good way. Dora is extremely friendly and there are no problems that she won't solve. We have some trouble with air conditioning and she arranged it immediately. Our room was very beautiful and clean, it had a tropical design that suited well to a place in the middle of flourishing garden. The breakfasts were delicious and there's a good parking place for a car. And by the way, there are not so many geocaches in Sicily, but one of them has been owned to Dora's place! We really liked this place.

A stone's throw from Piazza Italy, our B & B consists of 3 mini-apartments, the "Pomegranate", the "Fico d'india" and "Medlar", that can sleep from 2 to 4 people each.

Special town, special host

Reviewed By monmamcymru

We stayed here for 12 days from the end of September. We chose Scicli as we prefer the slow pace of smaller towns,. We are also fans of Inspector Montelbano, this is what bought our attention to Scicli initially. Massimo our host came to meet us at Catania airport and we had a very comfortable 90 mins drive to Scicli. I was rather daunted by the 82 steps up to our apartment, but I became used to them - and they probably did my fitness a big favour!! This was much more than a B and B room - as there was also a small room with excellent kitchen facilities..and a barbecue outside. The bed was really comfortable, the air conditioning worked well (it was needed even in October). An excellent cleaner came every other day to change the bed linen and towels. Breakfast was provided every morning at a nearby cafe, where we enjoyed various toasties, cakes and pastries and as a special treat the best almond granita and warm brioche we had during our holiday. Massimo our cheerful, kind hearted host was in regular contact to ensure that all was well. He took us to a car hire garage a few miles outside of town, arranged a super visit to a farm for a meal of their own produced ricotta cheese and meats, arranged an excellent guide - Roberto who brought the history of Scicli to life. All Massmios suggestions proved worthwhile. It really was like having your very own personal travel rep who knew everybody and everything about his town and the surrounding area.. Grazie mille Massimo
