10 Bed and Breakfast Inns in Pozzuoli: Best hotel deals for 2023

April 30, 2023 Terina Blouin

Just a few miles west of Naples (and easily reached by train), the ancient seaside city of Pozzuoli is probably best known for its bradyseism, a raising and lowering of the Earth’s surface due to underground volcanic activity. Many sites remain from Pozzuoli’s days as an important Roman port, including the Macellum or Temple of Serapis, which for many years was submerged under water. The Flavian Amphitheater (Italy’s third-largest) and the Cathedral of Rione Terra are other popular attractions.

Stayed at the Tiro a Volo for five nights in February

Reviewed By MikeHCalgary

My adult daughter and I stayed for five nights at the Tiro a Volo. We had room 303 which was a very large room on what we would think of as the second floor in the main building. What we liked: Very large room, very clean and daily housekeeping was excellent and the bed was very comfortable. There was also a large patio off of the room. Lot's of parking for the car in a well lit parking lot beside the hotel which was very safe and secure. What we didn't like: The room was dark, not a big deal to us but others may not like it. The bathroom had a small bathtub and a handheld shower head but no shower current or anything else so it was a bit awkward. It would also have been nice if there was at least plastic furniture on the desk. The staff was very nice but spoke little to no English. Not an issue unless you were looking for advice or guidance. We enjoyed staying in Pozzouli but you really would want a car if you are staying at this hotel.

Great Value B&B in Pozzouli

Reviewed By andrewkbeeby

Carmela was a fantastic host, even arranging transport at a cheap price for us from the airport (half price to normal). And then creating us as we arrived. The room is one of four of an old apartment. There is an entrance area that acts as a communal kitchen and from this you enter your room. The whole has been recently refurbished and renovated to a very high standard in that the rooms surpass many hotels. The bed is memory foam with memory foam pillows and was very comfortable. As for location, the amphitheater Flavia is right outside, immediately outside. Also turn left and the old port town with its restaurants and bars is but a 10 minute walk. I wish Carmela all the best in her endeavour, it is so nice seeing someone investing a lot of effort and expense to create something, modern, clean, comfortable and functioning B&B. Well done

Nice location beautiful swimming pool , but closes at 1730

Reviewed By tonv190

We liked this Agriturismo but one very big negative is that the swimming pool is open for the public , they pay entrance fee, lots of locals with small children, but biggest negative is that the pool closes at 1730. After a day of walking and traveling in the heat it would be nice that you can go for a swim after 1730 while it was still 30c . Must be a real frustration if it would be August at 38c. We travel to Italy for 20 years always camping and Agriturismo but we never were faced with a pool Close at 1730. The reasons given, the pool needs time to be cleaned as it is a biologic pool. Fine, why not start cleaning two ours later and open 2 hours later in morning . This is the only reason why we would not come back to this place .

B&B Borgo Marinaro

B&B Borgo Marinaro, bed and breakfast low cost! We are on the second floor of a building in the centre of Pozzuoli, facing directly the sea, few steps from the bay and from archeological sites. We have 3 room (1 single, 1 double, 1 triple), just constructed and furnished, a sitting room, where it will be served breakfast, a wide terrace with an amazing view on the Gulf of Pozzuoli. Well connected with Naples and the Island (Procida, Ischia and Capri) even for those who haven't got their own car thanks to the Bay and train station (Cumana and Metro).

Seventh year returning to this wonderful place to stay!

Angela and Marino are perfect hosts, and nothing is too much trouble. Their B&B is situated in the period part of town, above and away from the noise and bustle of the town, but with stunning views of the sea, which is very close by. The rooms are very comfortable and spotlessly clean, and Angela prepares breakfast for guests, completely in line with their preferences. Or, just let her surprise you with some of her beautiful bread (either wholemeal or fig and walnuts), pastries, cakes (bobelonis are sensational!) or pancakes, usually baked in her coal-fired oven in the garden. Or the fruit. Sometimes as a treat, her homemade pizza or pasta will arrive for the evening! Many of the ingredients for her baking are produced or grown in their own garden, alongside the many fruits she serves. Angela also makes all her own jams from her own fruit. Stunning! These two lovely people and her family make guests feel totally at home, and indeed they feel more like our own family than even very close friends. Enjoy!
