Small roo with amazing view

The room has an amazing view. However it is really small. The staff is very friendly. There is no breakfast available. It was quiet and also the shops had no music so that one could enjoy the rest. It is difficult to find parking close by, of course.

Fairytale Vacation

For our own apartment in a centuries-old city complex we paid very reasonable rates for a magical stay. Breakfast is provided by a cafe next door— lots of delicious choices and a lovely shaded patio to enjoy it in. Apartment has a kitchenette and nice bathroom, two AC units that kept us cool, a comfortable bed and windows with plenty of light if we wanted it. Wish we had booked more than two nights! Short path to a rock shelf for easy swimming access. We will be back!

Would visit again

Quiet place near the village of Monemvasia with an amazing view and a pool as an alternative for the nearby beaches, especially when it’s windy. The rooms are clean and the polite staff willing to give you any information you need. Anti-COVID regulations followed to the fullest. The only element I would prefer renovated is the plumbing. However, that does not spoil the overall experience. Breakfast is served on demand. If you have the option, stay in a room facing the sea.

Prima locatie , maar...........

Reviewed By Ton H

Average hotel with very friendly staff

Reviewed By gdstuart

The property consists of about 24 apartments with just the basics, but it's very clean and the staff is outstanding. Neighbors on the street were so friendly--one offered us fresh figs from her three and another insisted that we take a bag of lemons. Gefyra is so intimate that there are no street names or numbers. Everyone knows everyone. It's a great place to be based to visit Monemvasia.

Cyrenia Guesthouse

A very nice little hotel close to the fort of Monemvasia

Reviewed By SantoIngela

We wanted to stay at a small family hotel and called the owner Kyria Polytimi of Cyrenia Guesthouse who was very nice and friendly. When we arrived we got a room at the back (Nr5), facing the small cute garden, which was good since it was not facing the sun and not hot. Nice, very clean room with a large comfortable mattress. We stayed for 2 nights and since we work in the tourist business for more then 30 years we wanted to find more secluded and non touristic beaches, places to visit and small local taverns. Kyria Polytimi gave us the absolutely best suggestions and everything she recommended was great. But where is a secret and you have to ask Kyria Polytimi yourself..:)) We highly recommend this little gem at the south end of Gefyra which meant it was also a more quiet area. We will return again for sure.

Paraschou Guesthouse was easy to find when driving to Monemvasia, has free parking and wi fi and terrific views to 'the Rock'. Breakfast was excellent, delivered to apartment each morning at whatever time was requested. Large area with kitchen and all utensils and bed was comfortable for a good night's sleep. Not too far to walk to the causeway and catch the bus to the entrance of the lower town, or walk the whole distance. parking near 'the rock' is first in first served and quite limited although one could be lucky. The view from the large patio at the front was amazing.

Ok hotel; fantastic hosts

Reviewed By Ted2112

The hotel itself is not that great, similar to a 2 star in Canada or US, but its fairly similar to most of the types of accommodations you will see in Greece. The walls are not good at absorbing sound, so you will hear other guests coming in and closing doors at all hours of the night. You generally won't hear them in their rooms, however, so you do have some privacy. The beds are comfortable. The kitchenette is small, and not very practical, but the fridge is useful. The washroom is tiny, as is the shower, but again, this is common in Greece. For the most part, you are only using the room for sleeping, as there are so many great places to visit in the surrounding area. The hosts were absolutely fantastic. We had a broken down air conditioning system which we didn't realize until we got in at 2:30 am from a night on the town, and when I told the lady about it, she was upset that I didn't inform her immediately so she could at least get me a fan. I wasn't about to bother her in the middle of the night. After informing her, she immediately called a repair man who came and told her that it was unrepairable. She had him install a new unit and we had air conditioning within 3 hours. She constantly asked us if everything was ok, and made sure that we were comfortable. This didn't happen in the previous hotel we stayed at, Villa Louisa, just outside Monemvasia, in Xifias, where the AC unit was broken, and even though they "claimed" to have called the repair man, none showed up in the 6 days we stayed there. Other good things was the fact that a maid came in every day to do a general sweeping, mopping, making the beds, and changing of the garbage (in Greece, you can't throw toilet paper into the toilet, you need to put it into the garbage, so its great to get it changed every day; this didn't happen at our previous hotel and it stank, and we had to change the garbage ourselves). The hotel had some parking, but if you don't have a car, the supermarket is a 4 minute walk away, and the main town is 8-10 minutes walk. Even though I had a car, we would often walk around, as finding parking in the town of Monemvasia is next to impossible in the evenings when everyone goes out, and I wouldn't want to drink and drive anyway. Overall, I would consider staying here again in the future.
