We stayed here Easter weekend with family to celebrate a double birthday. Loved the place, the bedrooms are comfortable and spacious, the lounges, dining room and entertainment rooms were all period and comfortable furniture. The gardens are pretty and big with lots of seating areas. The food provided at the party was delicious as was the breakfast. Lorna and all her staff were very friendly and welcoming. This venue is perfect for partys and get togethers or even for a quiet peaceful get away. Would love to stay there again

As well as a typical full English breakfast being available there are vegetarian options and if advised at time of booking a tofu vegan dish can be prepared.

A few days away.

We booked this last minute as it was very reasonably priced and included breakfast. We received a warm welcome from Gary and Shirley. We had the small double on the 2nd floor. It was clean, tidy and had nautical features to the room. There is no view from the window but as we don't spend a great deal of time in the bedroom when visiting places, it wasn't an issue. Breakfast was freshly made, local ingredients and was cooked to taste. When Gary realised I didn't eat egg white he gave me 2 eggs which was a lovely touch. The ensuite was spotless, the shower very good and water pressure was very good. Another nice touch was having a bottle of water replaced in our room every day. The hotel location is just behind the promenade so not far to the beach. A lovely few days away.

Me and my mum stayed here as a birthday break away. We were welcomed straight away and instantly we felt at home and we knew we had come to the right place! Our room was spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean! We couldn't have asked for more. Breakfast was spot on. Again, it was like we were at relatives house and we'd gone to stop the night. The whole experience was a 10/10. We will definitely be going again.

Just back from a one night trip. Lovely place to stay ! Lovely food and lovely people! Everyone from the duty manager to the charming waitress and the lovely lady polishing the front door this morning were so welcoming and obviously proud of this little gem . Food was excellent as was the cask ale and the wine list. Excellent value! We ate at its sister pub The Ship today at Parkgate where again the service was 1st class ! This chain of pubs is doing something very special that others should learn from !
