Reviewed By melw6868A basic budget hotel with different variety of room types, which is good for me when I'm looking for room that can accommodate all 4 adults at fair price. There is no breakfast and wine bar like scott described; limited TV channels and toiletries (only soap and towels) - but that do not bother us much. It's about 20mins walking distance to museums, the Central market, shopping malls like Parkson, and Jalan Kebun Sultan (the Chinese town). Though slightly away from town, it's quieter at night and my parents like it (except during dusk.. all the birds chirping etc). The hotel staff are friendly and recommended several point of interest. They even offered to send us to the airport for our return trip as it's early morning and hard to get taxi =) All in all it's a good stay given the price and location.

A MIXTURE OF STAFF PROMPT RESPONSE AND A DISASTER
Reviewed By nikzafriI've booked using Visa to ensure the room is secured for 6-8 March, 2020. Prior my arrival, I am in constant contact with Oyo and Booking dot com via messaging and Whatssap. Later, I also enquired about the possibility of early check in - but no proper response was given. I was back to accept a wedding invitation of one of the closest Kelantan Royalty which will be held on the 6th 3.00 pm at Masjid Ismailli (Sultan Muhammad V mosque in Pasir Pekan) and in Kota Bharu for the official ceremony the next day. I reached the location around 11.30 a.m. but was not able to check in except for 2.00 pm onwards. It is not possible for us to check in at 2.00 and be properly ready to attend the 1st day of the royal wedding at 3.00 p.m. I inquired about my prior messaging but it neither not found nor properly responded. While I have been reminded on "cash deposit", unlike any other Oyo-based hotels I've stayed before, despite my booking is secured by Visa - was surprised to find out that I can't use Visa to pay for my room. My family and I were very exhausted due to long less stoppable journey from Kuala Lumpur to Kelantan. It is very inconvenient as a Muslim; despite the status as a traveler (musafir) to roam around Kota Bharu during Friday prayers. The staff did promise that he will try his best to get me a room as soon as possible (which he did). We had no choice but to go somewhere discreet - ended up in Pizza Hut Kota Bharu to wait not only for the Friday prayers to end but also to rush to get cash from ATM. I complained profusely via Booking dot Com messaging and in less than but 1/2 hour, I was called by the staff to inform me that the room is ready around 12.30 Delighted, we rushed to check in. At the reception, I was told to ensure to pay for my parking the next two days (where Saturday/Sunday are working days in Kelantan) in front of the hotel using vending machine to avoid tickets or worse - locking of tyres by Kota Bharu Municipal Council. The room was ok - ample for the family. The television was not working properly but the maintenance boys were quick to fix the problem upon complaint. Later, having attended the first part of the royal function, we found out that the washroom's floor water trap was clogged and there was dirty and smelly water flooding everywhere on the floor. The sink's piping was modified/directed towards the floor trap instead of the internal wet-walls to the drainage which made things worse. (I suspect the drain for sink water was also clogged) The first day was really a total disaster. We did not have proper bathing and had to use the toilet/washroom near the reception Early morning on the 2nd day, I started to lodge complaints and luckily, we were given a new room which is so much better than the first. I should compliment the staff working on the 7th of March, 2020. There is no breakfast included in the package. We had breakfast in Kota Bharu and sometimes around the surroundings which are quite familiar to us as I am originally a Kelantanese. The 2nd and the last day on the 8th was really great. It's also important to note that the token based dobby/laundry is just next to the hotel which was very convenient to us to do our daily laundry for our travelling and ceremonial clothings. On the last day during checkout, after spending much money to pay for the parking using Touch and Go card, found out that THERE IS a free parking lot behind the hotel (at the hotel's staff discretion?) - I am unsure whether it's the official hotel parking or otherwise as there was not information or signs indicating as such. Another disappointment. All in all, the first day was a mixture between prompt response of staff and maintenance personnel and a disaster. However, the 2nd and the last day were great.

Reviewed By LynnDhiaStayed here over Chinese New Year period when I was visiting some relatives. It's one of those places that you don't have high expectations for, but i was wrong. They've just gone thru a major facelift so everything is spanking new. One of the most important criteria for me is to have : 1) working aircond, 2) decent bed 3) decent shower 4) clean environment, and thankfully, everything was perfectly working, definitely TOTALLY worth every cent that I paid for (which was SUPER affordable) No breakfast, but it's close to the big market (as what locals call it), so lots of food around the area. Staff speaks english so that helps. All-in-all, i enjoyed my stay visiting relatives and friends, but it helped that i had a good night's rest to enjoy my holiday.

The room is spacious, the design is decent, the tv channel is good, the surrounding is super full of peaceful vibes and you can also find a cattle farm nearby and can walk to there. The herds are safe and you can play with them. I was here for a transit before going to Perhentian Island. the family was very sweet they really took care of our hospitality and what not, the best place ive went in kelantan. The next trip, i will come and stay here again thats for sure The price is really affordable. For this price, its a value over price property. Keep it up Riverside Greenery Inn for such wonderful experience

Good Location, Superb Generosity
Reviewed By Wildcat7400Since it was just for a 2D1N stay, my partner & I chose this budget hotel due to its location & value. It was close to the airport & past reviews were positive. When we arrived, there was ample parking space. However, there was no concierge & we had to carry our bags into the Hotel. An elderly man attended to us at the reception. As we arrived early at 12 pm, he explained that our room was not ready. Check-in time was at 2 pm. Since our room was not ready, he asked whether we could take the room on the 1st floor. We had no issue & accepted graciously. There was no lift to the 1st floor. Thus, we had to carry our luggage ourselves to our room. Our room was a decent size although it felt a little claustrophobic as there was no space beside our double bed on both ends. The mattress was soft which was not good for my back & the pillows were equally soft too. The TV was mounted to the wall, facing the bed. I believe we had satellite TV but we did not get to enjoy it as we were out most of the day & came home late. The closet follows the open Scandinavian concept where hangers are hung out in the open for all to see. Two bottled water were given inclusive of tea & coffee making facilities. The air-conditioner came in handy as it cooled the room fast. Our room was also equipped with complimentary WiFi. The bathroom was clean & came with the basic water heater which took time to heat up. There was also a hand bidet which we greatly appreciated. We went out after checking in & came back late in the evening. Since it was such a hot day, we finished the bottled water. My partner went to the lobby with the intention of buying a couple of bottled water to quench our thirst. However, I was told that the staff had given 2 additional water bottles free of charge. Although check-out is at 12 pm, we checked-out the next day early in the morning & were given 2 more additional water bottles on the house. I would definitely come back to Tanjong Inn. A mentioned earlier, apart from its location & value, their generosity exceeds any 5-Star Hotel!

Facilities - TV, coffee mixes but only soap for toiletries. No cupboard in the room. Pipe in the toilet was leaking, which should be spotted when they service the room to avoid wastage. You have to pay for parking at night (not sure whether can claim from hotel) So if you are in town for a short visit and like to wander around the night market, give it a try.

Reviewed By macc20you can just walk across the road and you will reach USM. Surrounding area have a number of eateries and small supermarkets which is convenient. rooms were ok...good enough for a few days trip just to sleep and rest for the day
