You won't be disappointed with your stay at Rokpa and while there be sure to learn about its history and humanitarian cause. My longer than expected stay, was a success on all levels and I was treated with utmost kindness like a member of the family. Highly recommended. Rooms with stupa view are an added bonus.

Perfect little hotel in Thamel
Reviewed By Biswa MI stayed in Lemon Tree hotel in Paknajol, Thamel (not associated with the famous hotel chain of the same name) for 3 nights in June 2022. I booked a deluxe single room via MakeMyTrip. The room was small but perfect. It had everything one would need including wifi, hot shower, a spacious closet, neat and clean bedsheets and towels etc. Housekeeping came to the room daily to clean the bathroom and make the bed. They even replaced the perishable items like mineral water and bath soap. The hotel is situated in the tourist hotspot of Thamel but still a little distance away from the busy chaotic area near Narsing Chowk. No bars with loud music or dance clubs nearby. You can get a good night's sleep after a tiring day. Last but not the least, the staff were always polite and helpful - even while I woke them up in the middle of the night to open the gate. With discount the price of the room was less than 1000 INR a day, so it was complete value for money for me.

Rooms are quite nicely and carefully appointed and really comfortable, including bathrooms. The price is really reasonable considering location and amenities. The steep stairs were a bit of a challenge for some of us older visitors, but the rooms and rooftop were absolutely worth it, and we appreciated having the original cozy rooms and decor. The staff could not have been more helpful and welcoming. There is even a carefully hidden safe in each room for those who need one. In spite of being just off the square, the hotel is quiet. Great place in all respects!

Traditional Homes- Swotha is a beautiful Boutique Bed and Breakfast nested in the heart of Patan Historical center, a few meters away from the magical Durbar Square. 5 intimate and spacious rooms with attached bathroom and an Attic Suite room. The furnishing is cosy though minimalist (iron and wood mainly) but very comfortable ( antique chair, cotton linen sheets, wool and hemp carpet, quality mattress, gas heater, hot shower, hand made soap, cotton curtains, selection of books in each rooms and powerful wifi!) to which you add a beautiful roof terrace, a wooden balcony for each room, a small garden and a nice restaurant serving fresh and organic food.
Great Place to Experience Living Traditionally
Reviewed By teckeongLocated right within Patan, Traditional Homes Swotha is an excellent place to stay. As mentioned by others, it is located within walking distance to Patan Durbar Square. The staff was extremely helpful in helping us to arrange for a driver to bring us around Kathmandu, and extending our checkout time until we were ready to leave for the airport in the late evening. The room was spacious and clean, with hot water for shower (very important during winter). It would be nice if the room had a heater as well. Nevertheless, the bed had an electric blanket, which was extremely helpful for us who hail from sunny Singapore.

Amazing hotel with the best hotel manager I've ever met
Reviewed By Aevan317We stayed at Hotel Everest before and after our Annapurna Circuit Trek and we couldn't be any more positive about it. Not only does the hotel offer everything you could possibly need, but the location is also absolutely amazing, right in the heart of Thamel. What really stood out during our stay at Hotel Everest, was Arjun. Arjun is the most friendly and helpful hotel manager you could ever meet. After staying one day he arranged a guide and porter for us to do the Annapurna Circuit Trek for a very good price, but what made it even better was the fact he kept checking in on us during our trek to make sure everything was as good as possible during our trek. When we ended our trek, our plane back to Pokhara (to go back to Kathmandu) wasn't flying due to weather conditions, but even then Arjun took care of us. It took him 15 minutes to arrange a jeep to get us back to Pokhara. After we came back, he even treated us to a nice dinner. Honestly, you won't come across a better hotel and hotel owner in Kathmandu and I can HIGHLY recommend both.
